Do you celebrate your half birthday?

If it hadn’t been for an email from Burger King I would never have known it was my half birthday this past week. Have you ever known it was your half birthday and celebrated in some way? I have not.
My little one was up in the night for a few hours not feeling well. She got sick at 5am. She woke up for the day at 7am. She’s was fine after she woke up thankfully and she went downstairs with her dad while I caught up on the missed sleep.
With snow and mud and pets shedding and going in and out I had to vacuum and mop all the floors. I only had to do one load of laundry and wash one load of dishes.
I made my husband rice pudding. He doesn’t like the coconut rice pudding I made a few days ago which I love so I made him plain.
So it was spent as a very ordinary day.
The photo is a pretty bird house I bought at a thrift store. I’m going to use it as spring decor and possibly turn It into a geocache in the future.

Not a thing I have ever heard of before
Coconut Rice pudding is awesome

@Ineeddentures I like coconut rice pudding too. I made strawberry rice pudding recently and it was really good. I made the same recipe but without the strawberries and it was heavenly. Now I can’t decide which I like better my recipe for coconut rice pudding or the plain.

The birdhouse is pretty and I'd probably hang it outside and watch for birds using it this spring.
Nope, I've never given my half birthday a thought. I usually forget my full birthday until Pretty asks me what kind of cake I want.

@Daddyevil it gets harder and harder to find time to pop in here. I’m baby sitting my great nephew 4 days a week until the end of the school year.
The bottom of the bird house had a panel that could be removed to clean. Well it doesn’t look like the bird house was actually ever used as a bird house but that panel is missing.

@DaddyEvil well I thought I would have to do it since he was born but she wanted to stay home him for the first year. She’s been applying places and didn’t get hired. She finally did recently so I’m watching him. Not what I would prefer but he’s a cute kid and she needs help and I’m the only one willing to do it. She’d have to pay a sitter otherwise and not feel as safe with him going there so I’m helping her out.

I wonder how hard it would be to use a heavy piece of cardboard as the floor for it and replace it every year when you clean out the old bird nest?

I absolutely love the bird house. And I love rice pudding.
In my elementary school days I’d probably keep track of half birthdays, but I must not have done it consistently. I just remember being maybe six, and someone would ask my age, and I’d say 6 1/2. Lol
It’s always so good to see you pop in. I know you’re busy.

I never tried rice pudding until a few years ago and it’s so yummy!
That’s true I remember saying like 8 1/2 but it wasn’t like to the day it was just anytime I was closer to one digit then the next. Mostly I’d hear my mom say it so then I’d say it.
Yes and babysitting my great nephew 4 days a week now so even busier.

@snowy22315 life is short I think you celebrating it in some way is an excellent idea. For the fun of it I would but I’d never remember what day it is next year unless I had a calendar for 2027 to write it down on which I don’t.

@RasmaSandra when you are exactly half way to your next birthday so if you are born September 2 then your half birthday is March 2.

Sometimes I get emails from restaurants giving me discount on my ‘ half Birthday ‘ ….I think it’s just a way of getting you to go and spend money.

No, we don't celebrate half-birthdays. I have heard that some people do, but no one I know does--at least not yet.
Glad your little girl is OK. and that you got some rest. That's a cute birdhouse!

@MarieCoyle I have never heard of anyone doing it either but I think it would be fun to start. My husbands half birthday will be coming up the first week of April then my sons the third week.

@wolfgirl569 it’s something I had never even thought about but I will make it fun this year for my family. I just figured out and wrote down each of their half birthdays. I think my little one will be the most excited over it. Everyone else in my family are all adults now.
