I'm becoming a human pin cushion

They of course started an IV in the ER this morning. Fine. They've used it to give me fluids and now something for internal bleeding as well as draw blood. Well now that I'm up here the nurse just said she has to do one on the other arm too. The bleeding med is on a continuous drip. I'm supposed to get an antibiotic and vitamin K but those are just 1-time things. I'm not afraid of needles. I feel sorry for the techs and nurses who have to stick me though because my veins are hard to get. The last time I kept getting stuck members of central administration hauled me in due to the car accident. It was April or early May and I was wearing a short sleeved shirt. I had obvious bruises on the inside of my elbows after being in the ICU for a week. They told the union president that I looked like I had track marks. Oh well at least it isn't short sleeve weather! ETA: she tried twice and couldn't do it even with the vein finder light thing

Sometimes they will take blood from the top of my hand. The veins stick out there. I hope they figure out what's going on.

People can be real as sholes at times. I'm sorry that happened. They shouldn't judge, especially not a teacher. And that's the reason I always make the nurses take blood from the back of my hands. The veins in my arms roll away from the needles and and the nurse trying to find the vein leaves bruising.

Thankfully they always find my veins easily enough.

They often seem to have a problem with the son, finding his veins that don't blow out as soon as they get one they think will work. He generally ends up with at least two attempts before they get one that works. I'm sorry, I hope they finally got it hooked up for you.
