This is going to be another night of no sleep

OMFG. Last night I got almost no sleep and tonight is going to be no different. In order for IV pumps to work (if the needle is at the inside of your elbow) you need to keep your arms straight. If they are bent for any length of time the flow stops and the pump starts beeping in warning. It took me some time to learn how to avoid that. This old woman in this room with me has one too but it has become clear that she is in some early-ish stage of dementia because she doesn't understand what the nurses and techs keep telling her. She also has some significant hearing loss because it can beep for 10 minutes and she won't hear it whether she is asleep or awake. It has kept me up for the past 2 nights. I hit the call button every time so not only do I get pissed but so does the staff that has to come clear it to shut it up. Like this will happen every 2 or 3 minutes. So I've given up on sleep tonight. Hopefully I will be discharged tomorrow because this is absolute BS. I'm ready to unplug the thing. I don't care what the medication is.

Hi, I’ve just scrolled back on your posts to see that you are in ER. Sorry to hear that. You’re full of hell, so must be on the mend. It’s definitely no fun sharing a room with strangers, especially those who do strange things. I feel for you. Apologies, but your description of the beeping made me laugh. Hopefully you escape tomorrow

I’m surprised that you have shared rooms with all the HIPPA laws. All of the hospital rooms here are private. Anyway, get well soon!

Good thoughts for you. I know you are not in the best situation but please pay attention to taking the medications.

The last time my son was in for several nights, he had a roommate with really bad dementia issues, who yelled in his sleep. Then he would be quiet, then he would yell some more. They gave the poor fellow his own room, no one could rest with him around. Sounds like they should try to move either her, or you. I'm sorry. I know you must be exhausted.

As I said before, I would ask to be moved. I hope you get discharged soon...but not until they know the full story of what's going on.
