It took 3 nurses 5 sticks to hit a vein

My vein of course. I've always known that I'm a "hard stick" meaning that it is difficult to hit one from which to draw blood. Nurses and phlebotomists used to regularly say that they "rolled" but now the complaint I hear more often is that they are deep.
It is a good thing that I'm not afraid of blood or needles because it took 3 women 5 attempts to find a sweet spot. The hematologist ordered 6 vials which they all thought was a lot. They were shocked when I told them the last time it was 15.
Anyway I'm hoping this means that he will be by today to clear me for discharge. I can't wait to get out of this hospital!

I feel for you with veins difficult to locate for tests, my husband's are similar.
Mine are visible from across the room I feel.
In the summer I am careful what to wear so that I don't gross people out, especially above the heart leading to my head where they are so easily seen.
My blood tests are always done quick and easy.
I hope that today is your day to be discharged.
Wait, who is watching the kitties?

I let them use the top of my hand if they can't find a vein. I have a phlebotomist coming to the house next week from Cancerguard. I don't know how many vials he will take. I hope with all that blood they figure something out.

I know so many people who have a hard time having blood drawn. I am glad they did finally succeed.

How awful for you. I hope you are stable so you can leave.
