Instant Relaxation

I was really stressed today, and I just wanted to let go of it, and it occurred to me I had just gotten a new free lavender candle (I love a wood wick). I lit it, and within two minutes I was relaxing. It was just that fast. I was automatically breathing easier. I used to do that way more often, and should make it more of a habit. What is the best way you know how to get relaxed?

I had to really think about this. Sometimes I don't really know why I'm stressed. At those times, I try to determine what it is that is worrying me and if I can take steps to address it. Just knowing exactly why I'm stressed seems to help a bit.

I love lavender essential oil and I always have it. I turn on my diffuser and place a 2-3 drops of lavender in it and it relaxes me.

Stop, close eyes, breathe deeply. Just no lavender scented candle. Glad you’re calm.

That sounds so wonderful. I have a hard time relaxing, but Harper and Willow usually can bring me down pretty easily.

That sounds so calming—lighting a candle and enjoying the scent is a great way to quickly relax after a stressful day.

My way to get relaxed is to fill the bathtub, add a nice scented bath gel and take a long bath.

Watching the flame of a good candle burning, listening to water run or reading a good book usually helps me relax. I'm glad you're feeling better now.

When I a really stressed, I talk it out with my husband. He has a quiet and soothing way of getting me to understand why I am stressed and then I feel better. I was stressed yesterday, but didn’t tell him until I began making dinner. He offered to help, and then cleaned up everything so I’d have time to soak in the tub. I felt so much better. We do what works for us.

Lying on the couch...does it every time. I would think lavender would be good for destressing.
