A good-looking bird

Don’t you just love this rooster? It is as high as I am. It stands at the entrance to Henley Brook tavern where we stopped on the way home from our bus trip to the Swan Valley recently. It was a weekday and not particularly busy but, judging by the long tables in the covered areas outside, they must get a lot of custom on the weekends. I guess the association with the rooster comes from the place being locally as ‘the Hen’ and a good place to ‘roost’ for a while. Whatever. It’s a great looking bird.

I would love that in my garden up north! I have several birds like that and that size.

@JudyEv Flamingos, of course, cranes, peacocks…. I left them out last year during the winter, and my son told me most got heaved up and fell over when the ground froze. He was right. This past fall I stored all my garden sculptures in my garage. I haven’t specifically taken photos of them, but they may show up within my flower photos.

@DianneN Here, you don't really need to store things away from season to season. It would be fun getting them out at the beginning of the good weather.

I truly do. I used to have a collection of them in my kitchen. A good place to 'roost'. That's good.

@JudyEv - I imagined it was tall, comparing the bird with the window behind him.

My dad has a six foot tall one in his backyard, although it has more yellow in it. I love those kind of things.
