Subpedibus

Jane and her husband have a new cat, aside from all the cats people have dumped on them in the country. They have decided to have one as a tame cat. The other cats are going to the farm. They have a unique name for their new kitty. His name is SUBPEDIBUS Which Jane tells me is Latin, for "under foot". I have forgotten most of the Latin I knew, but yes, "Sub" means under or below. Feet is a translation of "pedibus" along with some other meanings. Jane says when she wants him to come in she just says "here, kitty, kitty" So that was a smile for the day yesterday.

Kitty, kitty, kitty is much less of a mouthful other than saying SUBPEDIBUS!

Before her trip to Oregon I thought she had said they would call him "George", but I can see her husband's hand in this.

Wow, that is unique! He will have quite the reputation at the vet's office. That goes beyond naming a black cat Belezebub for sure .

She said it with such a straight face. When her kids and mine were younger she THOUGHT she was allergic to cats. Turns out she is allergic to peanut butter, which as a single mom of four she ate a lot, and eggs. She loves animals and feels a cat is a right choice for her right now.

I'm trying to figure how to say that. When I allow Peter cat outside and want him back, I call: "Pete! Petey!"

@GardenGerty Cute. Beau Teak Siamese esquire is Beau but sometimes "Teakers" and sometimes in my really silly moments "Bubba" because he loved water bubbles when he was a kitten.

I’m glad they have one to give their love to. My best friend lives in the country, and it’s shameful how many dogs and cats get dumped in the country.

Right, and then they breed. Ken has fed these strays but they are going to be happier on a working farm.

That definitely is a unique name. Never heard it before but it does sound very fitting when you hear what the name means. Our animals are always under our feet tripping us.

Yes, she messaged me last night and just referred to him as "Kitty." He had stayed out past bed time.

That would be a smile for the day right enough Here we call cats like Patch or Tigger I would quite happily to the back door go and shout " come on patch, it's bed time" But SUBPEDIBUS Nah, just can't see it My neighbours would record me and out me on Facebook.
