Today is a holiday

I don’t know which countries aside from Eastern Europe celebrate it but today is International Women’s Day. My mom gifted me some tulips Friday so I have some flowers at home. No plans really for today. Maybe I’ll go outside and walk around the community to get some fresh air. For some reason I don’t feel like venturing out anywhere. Anyone celebrating today?

Although people always make note of it, I don’t know if anyone around really “celebrates” it here.

@Ineeddentures It’s something worth celebrating not just March 8th but why not March 8th as well?

@lovebuglena Because we have some stupid holidays and we don't need any more A day like this does not have to be a holiday It can just be a normal day with added meaning

Nope not celebrating it today. Though our country considers March as Women's month, women got certain privileges like discounts when shopping for ladies' essentials in the mall every Wednesday of the whole month.

If I’m not mistaken, in the US March is women’s history month.

@lovebuglena - Nothing, my husband had a bad day, he was confused and in pain. I stayed home all the day.

I've only heard about International Women's Day from myLot. Tulips are a nice thought.

No celebrating here. Today J comes to bring my groceries, make me sandwiches and take out the trash. There are a lot of other things too.

@LindaOHio that’ll probably be taking you a while if you have too many things. I’ve got to get rid of stuff also but for me it’s harder because I’m by myself and some stuff I can’t get rid of because not only is it heavy, but I cannot lift it on my own. We have an old dryer in the basement, and old living room furniture in the basement. And then there’s previous tenants’ dishwasher in the garage. All the things that Lenny never got rid of.

I don't see anyone celebrates it here except women partying in the offices or at home. We don't have an off at work here on women's day.

Where the holiday is celebrated I don’t think people get a day off either.
