28 Days of Eating Clean

Torrington, Connecticut

I have to admit it’s been a lot harder and a bit more expensive than I thought, but today marks a full month since I changed my diet and been eating clean. I cut off eating pork, fried foods, soda, fast food and anything that’s not made from scratch and honestly I feel a lot better. Now every meal I cook or prep is with extra virgin olive oil and every meal has lots of greens. I even stopped adding sugar to my coffee and then eventually stopped drinking coffee entirely now I have my green tea with honey instead. Its been a good journey so far and overall I lost about 8 pounds and feel like I have a lot more energy. Image is my own from yesterday’s lunch.

Good for you...coffee isn't bad for you though. It is a major anti oxidant.

It isn't but having it with sugar and cream makes it unhealthy, I just have green tea now with honey to sweeten it

Well done you. Lifestyle habit change is often difficult to embrace, you have progressed very quickly. I couldn't give up Bacon or Fried Foods entirely though, But sugar, never really use it , so quite easy to ditch it. Greens, I eat loads of them, like peas and sprouts lol.

Clean eating is expensive I think that’s what makes it so hard for most people. Nice that you have more energy now!

It's a lot more expensive to eat that way but can be worth it for some people. I hope you can keep it up.

Your lunch does look yummy and good for you for embarking on being healthier. I'm sure it's not easy. I see people leaving the supermarkets here with their carts loaded with cartons of soda. Invariably, they are way over weight. Just giving up those would make a difference in their health - and their pockets.

@BACONSTRIPSXXX In a way it's all about habit - what you're used to, etc.

Congratulations to you! I'm glad you decided to eat clean and healthy. I have been convincing a friend for 13 years to give up on coffee and just drink green tea but I failed over and over again.

That is amazing, congratulations on the change. I am changing my eating habits also, more because of the time of the year and I always change up foods than anything else. But I will be going to salads for lunches beginning next week-I have to get groceries this weekend in order to have everything fresh for that switch over.

Wow I give you a lot of credit as that's not easy to do. I'm happy that you feel better and have more energy. I know that clean eating can be expensive and time consuming when you are preparing your own food rather than just picking up something at a fast food place. Good for you!!
