Out for coffee with Yvonne

So we had a few things to do in town
And I asked Yvonne if she would like to go for a coffee
Her first cafe experience in 5 months
How good is that.
We are at one of the first truck stops we ever went to as a couple 28 years ago
Which just happens to be about 5 miles from where we live
Two coffees now cost £6.98
I think if I remember correctly when we first came here coffee was about £0.50 per cup.
It still looks like somewhere from the 60,s
MacDonalds next time I think

I don't even like shop coffee and it's expensive here too. Some people must spend a lot on their coffees. we went into the city yesterday and everyone was walking around with takeaway coffees in their hands. First time in five months - that is a real milestone.

@Ineeddentures I know I shouldn't judge but you see people here covered in tattoos with a coffee in one hand and McDonalds in the other and they're pleading poverty. Maybe they got the tattoos when they had money.

A real milestone and one which I should have kept for another day in another cafe
People spend a small fortune on take away coffee - never understood it really.
£3 would be a cheap one here,
Do that £7 days a week and that's over £1k a year.
My coffee at home , I can have 12 better coffees a day and still not spend £3
And if I use instant it's about £0.04 per cup

They have painted the inside
It is clean
Same staff, one lady recognised us which was nice
The car park is still the same
The kitchen is antique

The next time you will have to treat her to a family restaurant and have a comfy seat to sit down and enjoy a coffee and chat and maybe they will have a slice of pie you can order from the menu to share. She'd like that.

That is quite expensive if you didn't enjoy the coffee (saw in the comments). That's a bummer! Maybe if they were still 0.50 it'd be more fair.
