Humans have grown weak and depend on all of the modern things in life. Do you think we could survive an ice age if it came.. Sharks, jellyfish, turtles and alligators have been around for millions of years. They have survived. But do you think modern human can survive. After all modern humans have only been around for 300,000 years.

Yes I think we would survive an ice age, Well some of us anyway I am certain an ice age doesn't just happen over night, plenty time to plan, Be a gradual process, humans would adapt , invent, survive, We are a bit more advanced than we were 300,000 years ago

How soon do you think an ice age will come with global warming?

@jstory07 The next ice age is predicted to begin in about 10,000 to 11,000 years, but human-induced climate change may delay this occurrence significantly. Current emissions of carbon dioxide are likely to prevent the next ice age from happening for much longer, possibly up to 200,000 years. I bet humans won't look like us then And that's only when it begins How long until Earth is total covered in ice like in the last ice age Duration of an Ice Age An ice age can take several thousand years to develop fully once it begins. Generally, the onset of an ice age involves a gradual cooling of the Earth's climate, which can occur over a period ranging from 5,000 to 30,000 years.

I think humans could survive, but it would be really tough. We rely so much on modern systems now. On the other hand, our technology might actually be what helps us get through something like that.

An Ice Age sure would thin out the human race but there are always those who survive things like that.

I think humans can survive that, especially with a lot of advanced technologies nowadays

Interesting. I think it would thin our numbers out, but ultimately the race would go on

There will always be survivors which is good but we would have to live inside for a long time.

Good question..I guess it would be survival of the the fittest all over again. The way things are going I wonder if we will all survive an oil embargo or WWIII?

Modern humans have been around for longer then 300,000 years according to some estimates by scientists. And yes, humans have survived ice ages.

I don’t like being cold, so I would only survive an Ice Age if I could put an extra jumper on !

They say that the human race is not going to survive anyway. We will become extinct. I don't think we would survive an ice age.

Gee, I thought we were in the midst of global warming, lol. I guess since climate change hasn't killed us off, yet we can handle a little ice age.

Another Ice AGe is fact. The The earth's orbit of the sun means it gets wonky every 30,000 years and the earth denied enough heat in the northern hemisphere and ice covers 25% of the planet, the definition of an Ice Age. Interestingly we are at 17%.

During the pandemic, I think our country had the longest lockdown ever. WE couldn't go out, we couldn't interact with anybody. We survived mentally because of the internet. Imagine, if there was no internet, no electricity, no tv to entertain us? The lockdown was mentally draining and if the ice age comes, I don't think we have that mental strength to survive it. And you are right, we have grown weak because we are too dependent on technology and the modern life.

The Ice age is bound to come.I think humans will definitely survive it,because even Early Hominins survived it about 24,000 years ago.

Each passing generation has become softer and seek comfort from the elements being closeted indoors more often. It is not easy for them to face hostile climes.
