The doctor's office called with Bob's results. The skull CT shows no new damage, no bleeds, no stroke, etc. so that is good. Much of his blood work is normal. He does have a UTI. They are sending out a general antibiotic while they culture it. We are going to back off of the furosemide, omitting it for three days, then coming back on half dosage. He will start taking an appetite stimulant. I will go this afternoon to pick up his meds plus other prescriptions we have been waiting for refills on. I may be back later. We shall see. Keep on praying, and thinking good thoughts. Thanks.

You know I’ll keep praying for you both. Those UTIs really take it out of a person.

I think it has been going on for quite a while. He does not get the burning symptoms that will alert the doctors to it. Or a fever. He did suddenly have night sweats two nights ago. I am glad to have started him on the antibiotics.

I'm glad he doesn't have any obvious problems other than the UTI. I've been worrying about him and you.

Thanks so much. We still have a month until we find the results of the bone marrow biopsy. I am disappointed that the urology clinic did not offer to treat the urinary symptoms.

@DaddyEvil I called the clinic because he had finished his antibiotic, and now they say nothing cultured in his urine, no UTI. I have an appointment for him next week for more follow up.

@GardenGerty You're very welcome. Oh, I thought they would give him something for the UTI also.

Glad the results are not bad so far. A UTI could be causing some of his problems.

A long running UTI could be part of all of his problems.

I include both you and Bob in my prayers. Our friend is in the hospital now with a UTI among many other things right now.

I"m glad most of the tests were negative. I hope Bob recovers from the UTI quickly. It can cause all kinds of symptoms. Sending a prayer for both of you.

@LindaOHio No, not really. It was not suggested that he change anything but some medications. It has been improving as he was at a stage 4.

Thank you, Linda. He does have stage 3 kidney disease, but we knew that. Getting started on antibiotics will help him a lot.

@GardenGerty You're welcome. I have Stage 3b kidney disease and have made major changes recently to my diet. Has Bob done this too?

Quite reasonable results I would think Maybe if he gets treated for the UTI and the appetite stimulant works he will eat more and feel better

He certainly will. He also feels better when I am at home and bullying him into eating little bits of things all day.

@Ineeddentures He runs out of room. I do make sure he eats frequent small portions and if there is something he is craving I try to get it.

That's great!!!!!! And yes I will keep praying. Prayer is great! Take your time and be safe going to get the meds. If we see you later that will be awesome but I will understand if I don't. And we will see you tomorrow or soon. Hugs!

So we got all four of his meds. He seems to be feeling a little better today, but I also made him eat every little bit all day yesterday.

Thanks, @Marilynda1225. I felt so much relief to start him on new medicines and he does seem to be feeling better this morning, though still tired and sleepy.

When I worked in a dementia unit, they were always testing the patients for UTIs. It could cause all sorts of weird behaviours and conditions.

A UTI can cause a surprising range of symptoms. If that can be cured it may well help with the rest.
