Our old bungalow

Well looking through some old photos and I found this
It's a photo of our old house
This pic must have been around 1999 when we bought it because of the car
2 bedrooms, huge garden, 3 acre field, private drive and outbuildings
Cost me £100k, no mortgage, just bought it
When we left to come here in 2016 we sold it for £212k
Today it's on the market again at £292k
I reckon it's a bargain, green belt, one of Scotland's most desirable post codes
Asked Yvonne if I should buy it again
She said no,
Still no luck with the hunt for our new bungalow,
May have to spend a bit more than I thought

@Ineeddentures - Safe country with houses of great value. Our houses last for centuries.

The old builds from hundreds of years ago will still be around long after today's kit houses have fallen down

I remember our 3 acre place in Fla sure do miss that place
If I had the chance to buy it I would in a heart beat but I don't so
I just sit here thinking about the good ole days we had.

I know
I'm hoping that if we move from this one we won't have to sell it and we can rent it out and have a bit more income
Rents have increased a lot here because of the lack of social housing

Our current home is lovely Dianne
I think it will be that we keep the home we are in
And we will buy a holiday home on the Highlands.
That makes more sense I think

Must have been a cozy place. Do you own or rent your current one?

We are comfortable
Got even more comfortable when I turned 65
Infact we have more money now to spend than we ever did
We have no debt.

@Ineeddentures I read in the post you were looking for a new place. Did you ever find one?

@porwest
Found a couple
Things move slowly here.
One wanted us to wait until they found somewhere new
Another changed their mind about selling
We can wait.
It's got to be the right place
If we stayed here I would be ok with it
This is a good apartment , huge garden, a courtyard, place for my bikes, my man cave, good neighbours,
Actually to find somewhere as good might not be easy

Yvonne says I have been telling people I am poor on Mylot for 2 decades and she says I must stop.
I was so poor I could retire 12 years early.
I am a poor poor man

This afternoon
We could have been having a look at one
Yvonne wanted to go to the shops.
And then go for a run on the bike

Many happy years there.
It served it's purpose and made us a lot of money

What a lovely house...and with 3 acres! That's unheard of in Scotland and England.

@Ineeddentures I thought that land was at a premium in Scotland and England and only those with big bucks had a large lot.

@LindaOHio
I had big bucks lol
I've got even bigger bucks now
Loads of people buy a plot of land and build on it
Land is still quite cheap.
£15k per acre

Hardly.
My dad who was just along the road had abkut the same amount of ground
3 acres isn't that much Linda

Yes indeed
Not so cute in winter.
10 years ago I was too old to be digging out snow.
So we came down here before the winter
Nice mild winters here with very little snow.

It really was a nice house Raquel
But it was a bit much in the winter
We got snowed in a lot

We might not move.
Wife now says maybe if we just purchase a holiday home on a nice park we could stay where we are for the winters, and use the holiday home in spring and summer and autumn

It would kill you on the winter
The drove from the main road although only 100 yards long, got blocked with snow several times every year.
It had to be dug out a lot,
Even getting to the outbuilding would see us wading through 6 ft high snow drifts
