Do you like birthday cake?

I don’t care for sweets too much, but I do love birthday cake. Yellow cake inside, layered between vanilla custard, covered in buttercream, white icing, and lots of pink colorful flowers with green leaves and of course my birthday message.
Today we have 3 birthdays to celebrate, all from afar. It’s our daughter-in-law’s birthday, my husband’s best friend’s birthday, and my beloved cleaning lady’s birthday.
My brother doesn’t like birthday cake, and so he celebrated his birthday last week with the yummies in the photo.

Tell your brother that not liking birthday cake is Un American! The pasties in the pic looks good though too. Birthdays are just so celebratory!

I love sweets and especially a birthday cake with buttercream frosting. I always get the end piece if its a sheet cake so there's more buttercream 
If it's a homemade baked cake I'm a vanilla cake with vanilla frosting,
Two of my kids love sweets and birthday cake, The other two don't like sweets and would prefer cookies or pastries like in the picture. I swear they must have been switched at birth

You always make me laugh 
Every single person in my family loves sweets. I love birthday cake, like you, and an occasional cookie. Give me salted snacks any day like Doritos, Fritos, potato chips, popcorn….. can devour a family size bag within 2 days 1 person likes this

@DianneN Yes I love cake and would be happy eating Doritos, Fritos, chips, nuts, etc too. I prefer sweet but would never turn down something salty,

I like birthday cakes as long as they are made for persons who are on the edge of diabetes.

@Ineeddentures Well, I wouldn’t call it restraint. I was stuffed to the gills from all the appetizers, salad, garlic bread, meatballs, and wide noodles with my brother’s homemade tomato sauce. There’s only so much a person can eat

I am a big fan of any kind of chocolate cake but not too much into anything directly that is a birthday cake, Latvians enjoy making a sweet treat called a klingeris for their birthdays. My mom always made them but I have never made any.

The ones in the photo come in different flavors and are called rugula. Some have cinnamon and raisins, and others have nuts.

Since I lost all that weight I have a general disdain for things that might put it back on. I get birthday cake yogurt from Yasso, but that’s it.
And yes, I used to love it…which is why I needed to lose 60 pounds!

I love birthday cake too. I have some of my birthday cake still in freezer. I need to eat it. My mother made me a butter pecan cake.

Yes, I do like birthday cakes, but here in India we celebrate birthdays with many other sweets along with cakes. All the sweets are Indian. So far cakes are concerned,, they are prepared by my niece.

You have a wonderful niece who must be a terrific baker.
Everyone has their own unique way to celebrate birthdays. For me, unless it’s a surprise, I prefer going out to dinner with my family, then having birthday cake at my house or a family member’s house, and then opening my gifts!
My dearest friends always celebrate with me at a fancy restaurant.
I’m just happy having birthdays at my age.
