Anyone who knows me well, knows I love my coffee. I am not picky about brands, of course Starbuck's is good, but it is wildly priced, I don't go there or buy their coffee. A good friend sent this to me for Christmas, and I wasn't sure if I would like it or not but of course said thank you and hoped for the best. I didn't open it or try it until yesterday. Had a wild moment and thought, ''oh, why not?'' so I made some. The son said it smelled good (he LOVES peppermint) and to our surprise, it was actually good. The mocha in it rather smooths down the peppermint. They make pumpkin coffee as well. Daughter had some of that this year, it wasn't bad, either. Just not something I would ever have thought to flavor coffee with. My son in law jokingly made the comment that maybe Starbuck's should make a coffee flavored like biscuits and gravy, as they seem to be more popular than ever. I think that would be sort of nasty, but hey...I wasn't really wanting to try the peppermint, and was surprised it was actually good. Have you tried anything new lately that you doubted you would like, and were surprised? Pinterest picture.

@MarieCoyle - We had to go to Switzerland a few days ago, I stopped at their local Lidl and bought 2 pounds of coffee beans. They have a very good brand and the price was still the same.

@LadyDuck We don’t have Lidl here but we do have Aldi. I know I have heard others say Lidl coffee is good.

Anna, I don't buy it, either. My daughter does sometimes. This was a gift I received, and I figured I wouldn't like it. But all in all, it's not bad. Of course the price of coffee in general makes coffee for a gift a welcome thing!

I really prefer to drink brewed coffee over instant if possible. I haven't tasted any Nescafe in years.

Hmm, not sure. I usually only get things I am pretty sure I am going to like, I mean with the cost of things you don't want to waste food. However, I quite enjoyed the hot honey, almonds but someone gave me some hot nuts..Tiero del Fuego or something...not a fan. I had to rub some of the coating off before I could eat them.

I can’t do anything that says hot honey. Like hot peppers, it just makes my throat swell. I am sure it’s delicious, but I just can’t do it.

@MarieCoyle I don't like hot honey by itself, but it was pretty good with the almonds.

Glad it was good. I've had peppermint hot chocolate that was excellent, and some that was a joke. I went to City BBQ for lunch yesterday, and it was awful. I got some sorbet last year that I didn't know about, and it was terrific...but so pricy ($7.00 [I got it on clearance, so I didn't even pay that much for two pints]) that I started making "fake sorbet."

@MarieCoyle -- I just put frozen fruit (usually strawberries or blueberries) in a blender after microwaving them a few seconds, with sugar substitute and just enough water to make it mushy. It's delicious!

The coffee was definitely a lot tastier than I thought it would be. Rather sweet, it’s sort of like a dessert coffee. Sorry your BBQ wasn’t good. I really like sorbet, haven’t had it in forever. Well, your fake sorbet is probably a lot healthier than the store bought ones!

My first salted caramel ice-cream I didn't expect to enjoy but it was really nice. It's good to try not to be biased against something just because of the name/ingredient, Say I who am as biased as the best of them! lol

@MarieCoyle The whole salted caramel craze is rather passing me by. I like caramel in the normal way.

I'm glad you enjoyed your Starbucks coffee and like you I'm not picky about brands. But, flavored coffee isn't my thing but my daughter loves flavored coffee and Starbucks so I guarantee she would enjoy this coffee. As for biscuits and gravy flavored coffee.....ah nope! But give me the real thing and I'd be happy

I wouldn’t have purchased it on my own, but it was a fun gift to try. You know my preference would just be a plain dark roast if I were the one making the choice!

That wouldn't really tempt me either. I like my coffee to taste of coffee! I do like chocolate and mint together but I don't feel like I need them all mixed up!

I am not sure what motivated the choice of flavor that she picked out to give me. But since I don't buy flavored coffee, I was surprised the coffee tastes as good as it did.

I wouldn’t have thought of putting peppermint in coffee …..hot chocolate , yes, but not coffee. However, sometimes , like in this case it seems, the unlikely flavours are the ones that really work.

I honestly never would have purchased this coffee, but it was a gift and I wanted to at least try it. Coffee prices are so high that unless it was undrinkable I would no doubt drink it. Luckily, it’s not bad at all!
