Do you have a dedicated laundry area?

Most people do because of course most washing machines are not mobile. I have sort of a utility closet just off the kitchen which contains my air handler, and hot water heater as well as the washer and dryer. The good thing about this area is that there are nice doors attached to it, that can be closed off, or opened as needed. The one thing I wish it had were shelves. I am really not tall enough to put some in but maybe I can get my son to do it.

I am not sure what an air handler is maybe a furnace? My washer and dryer are in my kitchen and I love it but my husband hates it. Although he never does laundry…

We have something similar to your set up. It is a utility room, the electrical panel is located in there, the washer and dryer which are stacked, a mini fridge, a small deep freezer, a nice long shelf over the freezer and fridge, and right under that is a curtain rod that I can hang items to dry if I need to. On the other side wall, I have a small baker's rack with a case of canned tomatoes, a case of canned beans and the pail for mopping the floor. I have a holder on the wall in there for the broom, mop and across the top I lie the duster that has a telescopic handle. I even have a little garbage pail near the laundry pair so that I can toss the lint in there when I clean out the collector.

It sounds like your closet is quite a bit bigger than mine. Mine is more of a kiosk.

@snowy22315 No, not likely as big as it sounds, almost everything is touching, except a little space between the washer and everything else. With the appliances being stack, I have a little wooden step stool to get everything out of the dryer, those dryer balls and the laundry sheets are always hiding way at the back of the drum on me.

I had a laundry room in Switzerland. Here the washer and dryer are in the second bathroom.

I was really surprised on my first visit to England and Ireland to find washing machines in the kitchen, mostly front-loaders under a bench. Most of the houses here have a separate laundry. My laundry is just off the kitchen. Maybe I'll try to get a photo of it.

Mine is actually just off the kitchen...in the little closet. It doesn't interfere with walking around in the kitchen.

I have a laundry room on my second floor which makes it so convenient. No lugging laundry up and down the stairs. Until this house every other place I lived my washer & dryer was always in the basement. Hope you can get your son to put up some shelves for you. They do come in handy

We have a little area with folding doors, so there's just enough room to tuck the ironing board in there beside the dryer. But the cool thing is that it's upstairs where all the bedrooms are, so we can put the linens and clothes away easily and we don't really have to carry laundry up or down stairs except for kitchen towels and hand towels for the downstairs powder room.

We have a "laundry room." I fold my clothes on my bed.
