Looking Forward

Last December I posted about the trip that I won from work.
I wasn't entirely sure that I would go because I have such a crippling fear of enclosed spaces, and well, that is what an airplane is. But within a few days of me telling my son that I had won this trip due to my accomplishments at work, he and his wife were quick to book time off and book themselves, the twins and my husband on a flight. They found wonderful accommodations about a 5 minute walk from the Fairmount Express that I am staying at in Victoria, BC.
December was a long way away from the dates in April when the trip actually was booked for. But...the funny thing with time is that it slips by quickly. And here we are just over a week away from trip time.
We are not flying out of the airport in our city, which my hubs and family will be. They got a very early non-stop flight. They will unfortunately arrive at their hotel hours before check-in time. I know that my son is looking into getting an early check in, as the babies won't be easy to keep entertained during those hours.
I leave on the same day as them, but we have to board a private motorcoach to take us to a hotel attached to the airport. We won't be there many hours, I don't know if I can actually have time to sleep or not. Our flight is at 8:35 in the morning. It is a quick shuttle from the hotel to the airport.
I feel like I have most of what I will need-we will only be gone from Saturday until late on Wednesday. I think that I will slip out tonight to pick up a new pair of shoes. I could use an extra pair of dress mules. Other than that, I need to stop for cash on the weekend and that seems like that.
I have gone from not wanting to go, to be afraid of the entire process, to looking forward to it, but still afraid.
I am looking forward to going to the High Tea that they host at the Fairmount. Our DIL has been and she enjoyed it. I won't need to eat much lunch on that day, as they apparently stuff you at all meals as well as the tea.

Just now
Yes I do. I'll bet you'll find someone to joke around with to take your mind off things.

@Juliaacv Have fun, I haven't been shoe shopping in a real store unless you count the flip flops I bought at Old Navy for quite awhile. I mostly get things online,

@Juliaacv I'm scared of heights but didn't realize how scared I was until I rode in a helicopter and the pilot pretended to dump me out the open side door while we were flying.
I'm sure everything will be fine on your flight. You'll reach your destination and wonder what you were so scared about.

Wow time really has flown by as it does seem like only yesterday that you were talking about winning the trip. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time and the fact that the rest of the family will be joining you will be the icing on the cake (so to speak)

It does feel like yesterday.
It being 'this' time of the year, I still haven't gotten a pair of dress slip ons to wear while there.
I finished working at 1pm today, and facetimed with Grandpa and the babies and they are coming to pick me up and take me shoe shopping. We had a bit of rain a while ago and all of the swings and slides and other things in the park will be wet-the babies hate wet, but....lucky for me they love shopping, so we will go out together.

Oh thank you so much Amber.
I can use all of the prayers that you can direct my way.
I hate to be a slave to my fears, as fear is only in the mind.
I finished working at 1 this afternoon and Grandpa and the babies are coming by to pick me up so that we can go shoe shopping. Not much else to do after it rained for 4 years old. I can only imagine what they will find that I will have to buy for them.

Thank you, I am nervous excited I guess I would say.
Apparently the view from the island of the Rocky Mountains are spectacular.
There is quite a buzz about the trip, tomorrow I am working in the office tower downtown, and I am sure that everyone will be chatting about it.
