Brands Missing Females

I was watching a sitcom the other day, and a character pointed out there were no popular brand mascots (of any kind, not just cereal) that were female. Cheerios cereal has a bee named Buzz, Fruit Loops has Toucan Sam, and Tony the Tiger represents Frosted Flakes. Can you guys think of any female examples without using Google? I’d have to use Google, I don’t know. *Please no one bring up Aunt Jemima. She does not count, and I’m not keen to get into her troublesome past.

Oh, that’s a good one. She’s the brand and mascot all in one.

There used to be Josephine the lady plumber back in the 60's..but I forgot what brand she was touting..maybe Comet or Liquid Plumber. Another one from the 60's was Cora from Maxwell House. You are right though, the face of the brand is far more likely to be male. Little Debbie has a female face. I guess she is Debbie.

I don't think I'm familiar with Aunt Jemima but I'll maybe research her myself.

I haven't watched television in roughly 20 years now so I'm not up on mascots for different foods. I DO know about the controversy around Aunt Jemima, though. That was covered by a Bart Simpson episode. (I watch Bart on my laptop.)

I’ve never seen an episode of The Simpsons. But they’re such a part of the culture I could tell you a whole bunch about them. Evidently, I don’t need to because you know them well!

@AmbiePam I watched every episode a couple of months ago. I heard Pretty watching them yesterday or the day before. Oh, after I wrote my response to you, I thought of the Chiquita banana girl.

I also thought of Wendy’s restaurants. The founder named the chain after his daughter, and her picture is well known everywhere.

I thought of Wendy’s, but wasn’t sure if she counted. Considering she was real, I’d go ahead and count her too.

@AmbiePam Oh, you're right. I was thinking more of names of women associated with a product or brand, not if it was a real person or not. I know Betty Crocker wasn't a real person.
