Your Favorite Sauce

Sauces matter to a lot of people. Do you have an omelette? If there is no salsa, I’ll take a bit of hot sauce (only a bit). If someone is making pasta, I’m hoping for pesto. The other day, @Traceyjayne taught me more about this brown sauce I hear British people reference.
What’s your favorite sauce? There are so many to choose from! Gravy, horseradish, A1 steak sauce, cocktail sauce, they are so good when paired with the proper meal!

I love pesto on pasta but Pretty says I make it too often and she's tired of it. I tell her she can always cook her own food if she doesn't like what I made.
That just leaves me more for the next couple of meals and means I don't have to cook as often.

I think it depends on what I’m eating. I like slightly tangy BBQ sauce on my chicken, and I’ve been known to throw pasta sauce in some rice and top it with a little chicken. I used to like A1, but I don’t eat steak anymore.

I like horseradish sauce. I have also had some kind of a sauce from Chik fila that they sell in the grocery store now. Salsa is very good.

I guess spaghetti sauce, but if you are talking about an adjunct type sauce, it really depends on what I am having as to what sauce I prefer. I like A! with steak, tartar with fish etc. Boom, Boom sauce that usually goes with shrimp is quite good too.

@AmbiePam The only think that I usually appreciate is a little ketchup on the side for French fries.
But when asked if I want poutine, I always answer, not my generation, and decline the offer.
Yes, it is said to be a Canadian dish, but it wasn't as popular as it has been this past 20 years, and I have been trying to practice healthy eating for longer than that-nobody needs to experience a heart episode as a result of eating poorly.

I like Del Monte tomato ketchup, but I think they’ve gone bankrupt already. At home, my fam usually prefers toyomansi - it’s a Filipino dipping sauce made with soy sauce and calamansi (a small citrus fruit similar to lime), giving it a salty and tangy flavor

I don’t use any sauce on omelets. It depends what I am eating. Horseradish sauce, homemade only for shrimp, mustard on hotdogs and deli, ketchup on burgers, soy cause, sesame sauce, etc. on Asian foods, any kind of tomato sauce or pesto on pasta…..

Like you said, different sauces pair well with different things. I like bleu cheese dressing on salads, but also on french fries or a baked potato. Yum!

Here pastas and sauces are a bit rare unless somebody is eating out, and, in a more modern restaurant.
