Yet another one on my beach walk

I tried to burn off calories from my meal last night, and after two hours of dragging myself on my morning walk, I decided to walk up and down our little beach to cool down. I just knew it! I saw the second sailboat I had seen drifting during the storm we had recently. It washed ashore just like the one at our condo and hasn’t been removed, yet, either! It can’t be seen from my windows. What’s up with people not claiming their boats? It’s been a week now, and the word is out that it’s an eyesore. I agree.

Very strange if these people don't care about their sailboats then they should just get rid of them,

@DianneN sure I'll put in some of the cats living here and we can all go sailing on Halifax River and catch some fish

I agree. I don’t know what their problems are. The weather has been great all week. Want a sailboat or two by any chance?

You would think the owner would be looking for the boat.

I heard that the one closer to me came from the western side of FL. He was out sailing during a storm. The one in my photo broke loose from its mooring. They are both still here.

Well besides that, it looks like a nice beach. Not sure why people do that either

Thank you. Most of the beach gets covered when the tide comes in.

@DianneN No problem. Not sure what that would be like. I've NEVER been to a beach in my life lol

I hardly think you need to walk that much to burn off a few calories from one meal Dianne It is a lovely beach. No wonder the boat stopped there. Are these boats worth a bit of money?

You’re too kind. I looked pregnant this morning We don’t have much of a beach until the tide goes out, but it’s nice and I’m grateful to have it. I have no idea how much boats cost, but I imagine they cost a pretty penny.

I don't get it either. They are expensive. Why would somebody just let them lie there?

It’s strange no one has claimed it after a week. You’d think the owners or authorities would have sorted it out by now. I agree—it really is an eyesore!

I saw the owner here a couple of days ago, but he never returned. The other boat, all I can do is shrug.

Not yet! The one in my backyard sailed from the west coast of Florida. The other one broke free of its mooring and washed ashore. Don’t know what they’re going to do.

I don’t know, but if they are, they would most likely leave them at one of the millions of marinas here. I think the owners probably live here year round. The guy I saw running away was out during that wicked storm we had and had to abandon his boat. Maybe a sail or the motor broke. And I think the other one broke free of its mooring and blew in with the wind and the high tide. If I had a boat, I certainly would get it back to where it would be safe. Maybe the boat repair places are busy with other boats. I have no idea, but it isn’t a pretty sight at all.

Wow! What a lovely place! It must have been nice to live near the beach. I agree that the sailboat will be an eyesore to the beauty of the beach. I hope the owner claims it soon

I just heard that the boat in my backyard is from the west coast of Florida. The other boat escaped its mooring and has basically washed ashore. I hope the owners take care of them before hurricane season.

It could be that it's northerners who own the sailboat and are out of town right now, or perhaps they have a winter home out in Wellington or something and just haven't had the chance to get back to the intracoastal to check on their sailboat.

@DianneN I wonder if they incur any fines or fees from state or local government for their boats not being properly moored?

Turns out that the sailboat in my backyard sailed during a big storm we had last week from the west coast of Florida. The man has been here twice looking at it. The other one broke loose from its mooring. I have no idea where they live, but it is such a shame.
