But this morning I was looking through a whole lotta old photos and videos on my external hard drive when I found this. Back in 2011 I didn't have a youtube account so I just kept it with everything else I was shooting at the time. I found so many things I'd put off looking for but this had to be the first one I'd post. ALL citizens of the USA owe these brave souls for the freedoms we enjoy so here's my salute to all those brave souls who sacrificed their lives so we could remain free and also to their families who miss them every day. I'm lucky my dad didn't die in WWII or Korea.

We can only repay these brave souls by being the best we can.

You're right about that, all we really can do is make sure future generations don't forget

@rebelann Yes, that's important too. War often becomes a big glorified again when there hasn't been one for a while!

There are many things we need to remember, more than just one day out of the year.

Those men and women deserve the best of everything after fighting for our freedom.

Every day we should remember the importance of being free and independent, to protect our country and not to attack other countries with vile excuses only to steal what they have.

I agree, it's a shame that it happens all too often and the worst part is that ordinary citizens like us never have the right to put a stop to it ...... the powers that be make those awful decisions in our name which is not what we want at all.

@rebelann - You are so right, normal citizens have no power to stop those who are our leader to take awful decision and the worst is that they do "in the name of the people".

My older brother survived two tours of duty in Vietnam. But Agent Orange ultimately got him

That is very true that soldiers who fought for our freedoms in wars are to be respected for their service.

I agree. Thankfully we have 2 days for that, the one in may for our fallen heros and the one on November 11th for Veterans

It is a good thing that you find time checking it. As for me, I cannot find time to check my external drive.

I simply haven't taken the time, I've been retired for a while but so many other things seemed so much more important until now.
