Pine tree dismemberment

Last year, I forget when exactly, I had to have my favorite pine tree cut down due to it becoming a danger to my home. I blame the stupid village Iive in, instead of simply asking that we hook up to El Paso water system they also required us to hook up to the El Paso sewer system which meant they had to remove my septic which was what kept my beautiful pine alive. This was the last christmas tree that my mom put up back in 2001 and I was lucky enough to have this lot at the time so that I could have this tree planted after the festivities were over. I was so proud of how grew from a 4' living christmas tree to the tree you now see as a dead wood pile. So now I'm on a mission to try to create something that will put this tree to good use, so far I've only cut a few branches off of it and today I took a before and after shot to show you what I was able to do. Mind you that I am 76 and no longer as strong as I used to be so I'm just glad I could cut off 2 today, tomorrow I'll do more weather permitting. I would also like to ask if any of you have any ideas of simple ways to utilize the branches, which is shown on the bottom, into something interesting. I don't want to simply throw all that away.

you can convert parts of the wooden branches into a wooden frame and fix a memorable photo with them

Thanks, I wish I could sue the stupid local so called government but I doubt that would do any good.

I don't know if sawing off limbs from a fallen tree is considered handy but at least so far I'm getting 2 of those big branches sawed off at any one time @sallypup I usually have to rest after the second one That is probably a really good idea, I could arrange those limbs in a square and plant sunflowers and stuff inside. Those branches might provide enough shade to protect them from the extreme dry heat we get here.

@rebelann I am not one bit handy with my hands but things like a wooden arch or using pieces as a plant support in a planter come to my mind, too.

I would have used the branches, cut in smaller chunks, in our fireplace. You did a very hard job, I am 75 and I know that we are no more as strong as we used to be.

I wish I had a fireplace but instead I think I will try to use those branches to create some kind of border for some of the sunflower and clover seeds I have, pine is easier to cut than the elm branches I will be attempting to cut.

@rebelann - That is a good idea. I also do not have a fireplace anymore.

If it is done weeping sap, you can cut chunks off the branches and use them around your house for the pine scent. You can wire four small branches together and use them as a frame around a picture of your mother. I'm sure she would like that. If you know somebody who is good at wood carving, you can ask them to make a dog and cat snuggling up together.

Thank you for those ideas. I never would have thought of the scent as I was born with no sense of smell.

@rebelann You're very welcome. I'm sorry. Pine is one of the nicest natural scents you can smell.

I do not blame you at all that you want to use the tree for good use.

Thanks. I hope I can think of something to make out of those branches.

You can cut few in circle and installed a hook. Then can stick it into the wall kitchen and can now hang some ladles on it.

Are any of the smaller branches suitable to use as a Christmas tree?
