We had a crazy, wild storm.

But....we are OK. I can't see any damage much as all the street lights are either out, or they have broken bulbs. And there is literally stuff all over the place that has blown in from who knows where--trash, yard ornaments, boxes, you name it, it more than likely flew by.
As you may have remembered, there are several lakes here very close by and we have a huge Canadian geese population. We heard a huge thump during the worst of the storm, but of course did not go outside to see what it was. We checked out the front door a little while ago, and there are several dead geese that didn't survive that horrible wind, and were evidently blown into buildings or objects and just couldn't survive. Usually, they hide themselves fairly well--but these birds didn't do that. One of the neighbors was putting them in a box and said he would call the Department of Wildlife in the morning. We are supposed to do that if we find any geese deceased. I just hope that none of them were parents--we have quite a few families with tiny baby geese right now.
Anyway, we are fine. That was a whopping bad storm, constant tornado warnings, etc. Thankful to be safe!

@MarieCoyle - We had rain, but not as bad as the warning we received. But it's very cloudy it could be rain again later.

@LadyDuck
Just some rain showers predicted for later today and then no rain for quite some time.

Sometimes we do not get what is predicted, but tonight we certainly did. I looked outside about an hour ago, and I can see items everywhere, tree limbs and trash cans and who knows what..it will take awhile to clean up tomorrow and the next few days. I am simply glad no one is hurt or deceased.

Usually they are very good at hiding during storms. But the few that didn't make good choices just didn't make it on my street. They all have their little areas they like to hang out. I have one pair that check out my front porch every single day on their early morning ''walk'' down my street. Another pair seem to enjoy checking out my back patio area every day. The backyard pair currently has babies following them, I hope the mama led them to a safe haven somewhere.

No one wants crazy winds or a tornado. Just glad it all worked out, thank you.

Glad you are okay. That's very sad about the geese. Hopefully someone will check around for the babies.

I checked for the family with the babies about an hour ago, they weren't out there anywhere. But then I looked again awhile ago, and the parents were out there with all the babies. Evidently they sheltered in a good place! I haven't seen the other set that like the front porch, but they usually don't show up until late morning.

Glad that you are safe. We are expecting another storm here. Wild weather seems to be popping up all over.

That's great to hear that you're safe. It would be scary hearing thumps in the night.

Us too. Many thousands here still without power. I'm just now catching some of the local news to find out what all happened. Bad total loss fire in neighboring county where a house got struck by lightning. Devastating.
