Wedding Day Drama

I was reading a story about a a woman in the United Kingdom whose sister-in-law threw black paint on her, the bride, on her wedding day (see picture). The woman wasn’t even invited, she showed up in her own, saw the bride, and realized she had leftover child friendly paint in her car. Seeing her get out of her car, she grabbed the paint and threw it at her. The wedding did go on, two hours later, after the bride changed and cleaned up. The sister-in-law got a short prison sentence, had to pay damages to her and the wedding venue, pay a little extra for distress, and got a ten year restraining order. I understand there are two sides to a story, but you never mess with a woman’s wedding day. Picture from People

The only wedding, besides my own, that I went to had somebody throwing red barn paint on the bride and groom. I don't know what they did to deserve it, either. *shrug* I was just glad I wasn't in range of the paint.

That sounds pretty traumatic, and like something PETA would do. My dad’s friends put frogs in his car that was supposed to take he and my mom on their honeymoon. Why those jerks thought that was funny, I don’t know.

@AmbiePam Frogs in the car would be funny! But, not to your mom and dad, of course. As I said, I have no idea who the guys were or why they threw red paint at the newlyweds.

Oh no! That must have been really really sad for the bride. The most important day of her life ruined.

@AmbiePam Even if the bride had done something to this ‘lady’ there is no justification. Who does that?

She said looking back she can’t believe she did it. I’m sure a church full of people agree with her.

That is totally not acceptable but some just lose it.

I read that article too. I don't like drama and the woman who threw the black paint all over that poor woman is getting her justice. I read someplace that she got quite a bit of jail time.

It's a terrible thing to do on someone's wedding day. Even if the person deserved it, it's still something you should do. Deal with it some other day.

I read about that. There was some disagreement between them in the past. But, it doesn't matter, there is no excuse for that kind of behavior. The sister in law should have gotten more prison time. I read that the bride is still suffering depression. Hopefully, she will extend that 10 year restraining order to a lifetime restraining order.

No, you don't mess with a woman on her wedding day, nor any day with paint. Some of our friends found my husband's vehicle and put shaving cream all over the windshield in an attempt to delay us in getting away for our honeymoon. When my aunt got married, it was during a summer heatwave, and she and my uncle were planning to drive out to the province of Quebec. There was no a/c in cars in those day, so my Dad and some friends, stuffed all 4 hubcaps with fish that they caught, it got pretty smelly along the way to Quebec, they also put headcheese on the manifold, which when it heated, caused quite a stink. And then 3 months later my parents got married, and nobody played any tricks, I think that proves that my Dad was the instigator of it all.

I have seen a YouTube video of the groom throwing the wedding cake to the bride for a joke, so they started fighting and they immediately divorced.

That is just so sad. There was certainly no love lost there, at least on the SIL's side.

Even with two sides to a story, you don't throw black paint at the bride. What a way to ruin a wedding day.

Apparently she blamed here sister-in-law for a string of things that had gone wrong at her own wedding a few months before. Family can be brutal!

That was very mean of her sister-in-law. Good she went to prison.
