I've lost my keys! All two of them. I have a spare house key, but not one for the padlock on my shed. Usually, I just have to say, "Keys, where are you?" and they show up in a few minutes, but not this time. I've looked and looked and looked everywhere and no keys. I'd hate to get out the bolt cutters to get into the shed and then find the keys in the shed. But I used the house key to get into the house last Thursday, and I didn't go anywhere for the rest of the week, so where are they?

You'll be walking through the house doing something and you'll randomly see the keys and think, "Oh, yeah, that's where I laid them while doing something else." I hope you find them soon.

@BarBaraPrz Last time I visited you, they were beside my keys when I left. I accidentally picked your keys up with mine. I'll bring them back next time I'm there.

Were you by chance wearing a coat or jacket, and may have slipped the keys in the pocket? Once, my daughter couldn't find her keys. She looked and looked, for two days. She knew she had to have them to get in the house so they had to be there. She was simply shocked to find out after two days, the keys were found--in the front door lock. She opened it and left the keys in the lock! She had never done that, she said she remembered her hands were full. She had been home ever since, for those two days, and just used the back door. She was scared...anyone could have come inside. This was maybe ten years ago, we all double check our doors, nowadays. I hope you find them!

I checked all pockets, even in things I hadn't worn but to no avail. And they weren't in the door, either. But I remember, way back when I delivered papers, seeing someone had left their keys in the lock.

@MarieCoyle The house key, anyway. The key for the padlock won't be of any use after I cut off the padlock.

@BarBaraPrz Hopefully, they will still turn up and you can use them for a spare set.

That'd be nice, but it probably would be after I've cut the padlock off the shed.

I really hope you can somehow find them. My dad has my spare car key, house, key, and mailbox key.

Well, I have a spare house key, but not a spare padlock key. I kept meaning to get a spare made, but it's too late now.

Try to remember when it has been the last time you used the keys. They are surely in a weird place looking at you.

@BarBaraPrz My husband thought he lost his keys. When I washed his car and vacuumed the inside, I found the keys stuck in the rail of his seat. I suppose they fell from his pocket.

As you say, you used them to get in, so they absolutely must be there somewhere.

@BarBaraPrz Oh, bother. I lost my house keys some months ago and I never found them. Usually they turn up but not this time. I suspect that they might have fallen out of the car when I opened the door somewhere and I didn't notice. Had to get another set cut but luckily I didn't have a load of other keys on that ring. My mother lost her house keys once and gave up on them - but then found them years later in the grass by the gate!!

Just stating the obvious but have you checked pockets, inside shoes in the hallway, fallen on the floor somewhere, covered up with papers?

Thanks, but I think they're gone for good. I'll get a new padlock for the shed tomorrow when I'm out for my bone scan. There's some stores in that area.

Haha, that's funny that you call out for your keys when you're looking for them. We have done that also. I lost my set of keys around 2 months ago. We looked and looked and couldn't find them. My husband had a set so I wasn't to awfully concerned. My son was cleaning the bathroom around 2 weeks later and my keys were down the vent in the floor hanging from the grate. Now how did they get there??

Yes, how did they get there? You'll be even more amused when I tell you I also call out for my phone when I can't find it. That's often in my bath robe pocket.
