Downhill all the way

I’m watching Would I Lie To You and a comment reminded me of a story my brother-in-law tells about a bike ride he and Vince went on when they were teenagers.
My BIL told the listener that they travelled a long way in a very short time. The listener said you couldn’t ride a bike that fast to which BIL said it was downhill all the way. In addition, the ride home was just as fast. When the listener questioned how that could be as it would be uphill, BIL replied that they went home a different way.
The photo is mine.

Going home always feels like it takes longer than any trip going to somewhere away from home. But, my guess is that your BIL might tell a few fibs once in a while.

Of course they are.
That's like my brothers saying they are the handsomest men in our family when everybody knows I'm the best looking man mom had.

Well that was witty enough!
My own response to such a wit would perhaps be something like a PJ of mine !

I love “Would I Lie To You”. The host and team captains are great fun, as are most of the guests. That story your BIL tells is funny, and very typical of a story someone like Henning Wehn would tell. He’s certainly not your typical “unfunny” German.

I love Henning. He is so funny. And Bob Mortimer is another favourite. I feel for Lee sometimes as they give him some impossible stories. We only ever see repeats. I don't know when the last series was made or if it is still going.
