Am I going crazy?

Sometimes we do things that make us question our sanity.
I was sitting in the car after my mom’s friend dropped me off at my house. I turned on the light and went into my handbag in search of the house keys. Instead of the keys, I took out my manicure set and proceeded to open the zipper on it. It is only when I opened the zipper and saw what was inside that I realized these are not my keys. Good thing I didn’t actually take out the scissors or the tweezers from there thinking that’s what I need to open the door. That would have been even worse.
I closed the zipper and put the manicure set back into my bag. And again proceeded to look for the keys. This time I actually took the keys out.
This is the first time something like this has happened. I’ve had other instances where I went into my wallet to get my credit card or sometimes my transit card instead of the keys when I wanted to open the door.

Yes, yes, you have gone off the deep end.
That's what you get when you carry around a full duffel bag and claim it's a "purse".

@lovebuglena My first wife carried around a suitcase claiming it was a purse... I HATED waiting for her to finally dig something she needed out of that thing. It took forever!

@DaddyEvil my bag is not big enough to work as a suitcase.

My bag is big and it’s always hard to find something I need in there. And even when I have a small bag, I still find myself with the same issue.

I remember one time I picked up a remote control about to dial someone’s number.
And one time I actually took out my keys instead of the transit card when I had to go through the turnstile in the subway.

I’ve tried to take something out of my bag while talking many times and this is the first time something like this has happened.

I don't know your age, but I'm learning that menopause sometimes makes us act that way.

These things happen. When I was a girl scout, I brought my toothbrush instead of a flashlight when we went star gazing.

It happens. I reach for the wrong thing on occasion. I don't think you have to worry unless it happens all the time.

We may not go for a manicure set, but it would be something similar.
