Oh yes good people of Mylot and anyone else reading
I done do did buy myself a smoking pipe
Despite smoking for about 53 years
I have never used a pipe for smoking tobacco, only for crack and weed
So I bought one
Tried it out and it didn't go very well
Put tobacco in
Sucked on it and lit it
And got a mouthful of residual material from the pipe
I forgot to put gauze in it
Silly me
Anyway the pipe in the picture is the pipe I bought
Have you smoked using a pipe before

He had something like this but tiny. I’m assuming he used it for weed.

@Ineeddentures I would’ve thought it’s a toy.

@ineeddentures I am not a smoker but have played around with the notion of buying myself a pipe. My grandfather smoked a pipe and I found the odour quite enchanting. Perhaps I will now that I’m retired. It can look so distinguished on an elderly gentleman and it’s better than smelling of wee and boiled cabbage.

Bill Bailey, the comedian, always used to carry a pipe in his pocket. He never smoked it, but stuck it in his mouth for comic effect.
Eric Morecambe did the same, but I think he did smoke his.

Yvonne said I looked like "Popeye the ******* sailor" with it hanging out of my mouth.
She has developed a habit of using the fword thus.
It's quite weird to hear her speak like that.

Oh I forgot about that
And a bong
My dad had a water bong with 4 6ft long pipes on it.
Opium was his gig
I think I first tried it when I was about 10
Along with a Bacardi and coke

@Ineeddentures You'd have to ask a pipe smoker. There's an entire culture around pipe smoking and each pipe has a "reason." I don't understand any of it, but that's because I don't smoke pipes. But I can tell you, it's definitely a thing.
So far as I am aware, he didn't make any of his pipes.

No, I do not smoke anything. This looks like a hillbilly corn cob pipe. You should get a fancy Meerschaum or whatever pipe befitting your Scottish heritage.

I am planning to try it again.
When I get a bit of gauze from somewhere.
But I think if it doesn't work properly I will give the pipe away
You are very wise.

Did it work?
I don't think we had any moth infestations in our piano.
Maybe we had pipe bowls in it

@Ineeddentures As per Cambridge Dictionary the meaning of the idiom - to have arrived
"To have achieved success and become famous:
He felt he had truly arrived when he got his first part in a Broadway play."
So smoking of a pipe is not "child's play"!

Seems smoking pipes was a lot more popular in the bye gone days of yore than it is now.

Female cousin of hubby smoking a pipe does sound a bit odd.
Be even more odd if I had a hubby

My dad often smoked a pipe, I never did.
I remember being told to never employ anyone who smoked a pipe, because, instead of working, they would spend most of their day trying to light it.
That was back in the days when smoking was allowed in the workplace.

You are on humourous form today.
But it's true, I needed a few tries for it to light properly.
Double deckers buses upstairs.
They were the place to go and smoke lol
