Pearly White Smiles

This afternoon the babies had a dental appointment.
Taking twins for an appointment requires 2 adults. Those were my husband and son, Grandpa and Daddy.
Yesterday they both asked Grandpa to come in with them when it was their turn. The only problem is that there is only 1 Grandpa and there are 2 of them, both with an appointment at the very same time.
Harper was quick to remember (correctly) that Grandpa sat in the room with her the last time they visited the dentist, and it was her turn this time around. I really don't know how she has the memory that she does.......we shall wait and see what age does to that. Of course her favorite person in the world is Grandpa, so that might play a part into it.
They have been very good at flossing twice a day and brushing 2-3 times a day. Their little mouths are too small for the x-ray to fit into them so, although they tried, they did not get any x-rays today.
And all of that work has paid off because they have no cavities just 2 cute little pearly white smiles.

It's really good that they have parents and grandparents who know the importance of looking after dental health
Many kids are not so lucky

Well said.
And so necessary to have dental coverage from their employer.
Without the x-rays, it was $1500.00 total.
Not all parents can afford that, which is such a shame because the habits that we learn in our early years stay with us for a lifetime.

@Juliaacv I bet the tooth fairy will make up for the ills. Besides they will be big, little girls then

@snowy22315 I did a search on how many teeth children should have at age 4 and it came up with 20, but Harper has 22.

@JudyEv I don't think so, but it seems unnecessary, the babies go to the dentist every 6 months, that is rare today, dentists charge so much and many families cannot afford it. But based on the fact that they are going twice a year, they should recognize that they are covered by their employer's dental benefits and that they want the best care, but not unnecessary care.

I hope they always enjoy grandpa and do not mind the dentist. That is great. I know twins are quite the handful, but also twice the fun.

Awww that's so sweet and im sure grandpa loves those girls. Harper certainly is smart to remember it was her turn for grandpa to be at her side. No cavities!! Hope they continue with good dental habits as they grow older.

Harper never forgets anything, it is insane what little details she will remember from so far back.
She tells me that she can remember me holding her and rocking her to sleep when she was a baby and what song I would quietly sing to her, and nobody would tell her that, she actually remembers.
With my memory, I cannot see the genetic relation.

They are easy now compared to their younger years.
Before they could walk or feed themselves, you were so busy watching them.
And then you were always up and down when they were going through their training time, but thankfully those times are behind us now.

I'm glad there were no cavities. That's so cute about them wanting Grandpa in with them.

Very glad they don't mind going to the dentist and that they're so vigilant about taking care of their teeth
