I watched a Youtube video a while ago and I was surprised to learn that there is an owl cafe in Osaka. They are real live owls quietly sitting on logs while customers visit them. I have only heard of cat cafes, dog cafes, and even piglet cafes before, so the idea of an owl cafe felt very unusual and interesting to me. Seeing videos of the owls perched calmly indoors looked both fascinating and surreal.
Japan really comes up with unique themed cafes that attract both locals and tourists. I can only imagine how memorable it would be to see these beautiful birds up close. Owls have such mysterious and majestic eyes, which probably makes the experience even more special for visitors.

That is really something. I am surprised they just sit there without moving. They must be really habituated to people.

I'd be afraid the owls would bite or claw people.

It’s interesting that they put so much effort into having live owls in the restaurant, but I can’t help feeling it’s a bit cruel for them to stay there for hours instead of being in the wild where they belong. I hope animal rights groups don’t push to have the place shut down because of it. Still, it’s definitely a unique way to attract customers, even if owls don’t really have anything to do with a café.

I’m curious to see them and enjoy the cafe, but my main concern is the owls’ welfare—just sitting there all day without being able to rest when it’s supposed to be their downtime, and night is meant for them to hunt in the wild. I assume they’re fed at night and allowed to roam freely, similar to how they would in nature.

@rakski I'm putting the videos of rabbit island and a bunny cafe. It might be a too long video. This is the youtuber i liked to watch.
