A strong possibility of yet another re-run here.

Illinois has been the home of weather nightmares concerning tornadoes this year. This article explains what could well be on the way this week...last Wednesday and Thursday was, for us here, the stuff of nightmares. Ridiculous winds, lashing rains, hail, tornadic activity, flooding...the only thing we didn't get was snow. And at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if we DID get snow! Anyway...if this plays out, Wednesday could be yet another day of hiding out and hoping it doesn't happen...and then it does. This could have some terrible outcomes, and it will travel east. If you are in the path, please be safe.

Oh, goodness, that article did not paint a good picture. Despite Oklahoma having that destructive tornado in Enid this year, we have had far fewer than normal. There is still plenty of time left, of course. I can’t believe though how bad you guys have been getting it.

If I am recalling what I read earlier today, we have the highest number of tornadoes in the US for this year, already. Did you send us some? (I know you didn't!) The storms are definitely a concern, and people are paying way more attention to them than they used to here.

@snowy22315 A lot of people in my area had roof or shingle damage from last week’s storms. Some people just got their power back on late yesterday!

Unfortunately, if it doesn't hit us it will likely hit someone, somewhere. Those storms are like that.

My area could use showers from a weather disturbance near Texas giving my area showers later this week.

I hope you get some rain if you need it. Lots of storms have brought us from a severe draught to flooding last week, it’s all up and down now.

The weather is insane this year. We have already had a thunderstorm and small hail this morning. Thankfully NOT the wind, this time.

We had one short thunderstorm last night, and another shortie this morning. Now it's just cloudy with some darker clouds here and there, for now. We are supposed to get some thunderstorms tonight, before tomorrow's whatever it is that we end up getting. And you are correct, it's insane!

We are expecting rain and high winds on Thursday of this week. I took that day off because I have to drive up to Pond Mills, the other side of town here, to go to my hair dresser's. It is a busy drive, on a street where everyone is in a hurry and driving without all of the good sense. I will putz along like I always do, probably slower due to the rain and wind.

@MarieCoyle I hope so, part of the way there is down a section of the street that is almost rural and has alot of big trees lining the street.

@Juliaacv I would be tempted to stay home if the wind was really bad, but pretty much every place we go requires interstate driving, and in high winds no one wants to be close to a large semi truck ready to flip in the wind.

That's how many we've had so far this year, give or take a few. Last year we had 146 for the whole year. I guess we are the ''new'' tornado alley in the US now.

Actually we are in the rainy season here. This must be the season for long rains that usually starts from March to July through August here. It's a little bit chilly nowadays.
