Thanks to the alert actions of a driver who saw a little girl on the middle of the road in North Charleston South Carolina on Wednesday morning pulled over and called 911 to report the incident to the authorities.
North Charleston Police Department officers found out that the little girl was near the Coastal Academy Daycare Center.
The police found out that the girl had escaped from the daycare center by slipping out through a fence in the school property.
The police found out the name of the girl since the daycare center officials admitted that one girl was missing.
The mother of the little girl was contacted and reunited with her daughter the same day.
Security footage showed that there is a hole in the fence on the property. Due to the condition of the fence, the police were not able to fix the hole.
Good question if the mother of the girl that was rescued by the police plans to enroll her child in another day care center after this incident.

If I had a child, I would look for another day care center myself.

I hope it won't be reopened, I got the impression some goof was running it out of their rundown home @Ineeddentures

It should be closed now until it's been upgraded properly to be safe and it needs new staff to run it because the people running it now are not doing a very good job at all

It seems like that the hole was a large one , not easy to fix, and I wonder how it was made.
Someone at the centre should be checking these types of issues, regularly, as with being trusted to look after young kids is a responsibility not to be taken lightly, by ignoring items in need of urgent repair.

It's a miracle the little one is still alive. Fixing a hole in the fence around a day care facility should have been top priority. If I were her mother, I would have a hard time with leaving her at any facility after this.

I also hope that the daycare has that fence repaired as well.

Stories like this make me nervous. That little girl could have been injured or killed.
