Ice cream challenge

My young neighbor requested chocolate ice cream. After the pool yesterday she came over and we made the base. It chilled in the fridge overnight while the machine insert was in the freezer. For whatever reason though it wouldn't thicken when she was here to churn it. Oh well. I sent her on her way back home and put it in the freezer to get colder. She said she will be back here later to try again. Fine with me. I hope it is salvageable.

Hopefully it just needed more time to chill and will cooperate on the second try.

That's odd... I wonder if there is too much sugar or if she mismeasured the liquid part of the mix?

And that would have been good enough for me, I take out an ice cream sandwich and love to wait till it is melty before I eat it,

I’ve never made ice cream, so I can’t help you here.
I’ve watched Nigella do a no churn, but I can’t remember how she did it.
