Do you still wear a watch?

I remember when wearing a watch was the easiest way to check the time. Now, most of us just pull out our phones. The funny thing is that sometimes I take out my phone to check the time, get distracted by something, and then forget to look at the time at all. At that point, a watch would probably be more efficient. Do you still wear a watch, or has your phone completely taken over that job? Which do you find more convenient? Photo is of a watch someone gave me which I didn’t know how to use.

I used to wear a ring watch, which was pretty handy, but I haven’t worn an actual watch in a very long time. My phone is always at the top of my purse so it’s easy to have access to check the time.

@AmbiePam Oh, that’s a ring watch. How do you wear it, just like a normal ring on your finger?

What's a ring watch? I've heard of pocket watches, but a watch on a ring is a new one for me!

The watch in the photo is a "nurse watch", they clip the top on their uniform. Yes, I wear a watch after I experienced how frustrating it is to have to take out your phone in the sun and you see NOTHING!

I've never heard of a nurse watch before. Are they mainly used by nurses? And yes, phone screens can be impossible to see in bright sunlight

@LadyDuck Haha, you've got a point there. A quick glance at your wrist is definitely faster than digging through a bag and waking up your phone just to check the time!

The only time I think about time is when taking my meds or going to my Dr visits when I need to, other than that time comes & goes everyday, so I don't need a watch.

That's a pretty relaxed way to look at it. As long as you're not missing your meds or appointments, you're doing fine!

It’s been a while since I wore a watch, but recently I bought a digital one that monitors my blood glucose and blood pressure in real time, so I’m wearing a watch again for health reasons. The technology is still in its early stages, so the readings aren’t always accurate, and the traditional blood draw test is still the most reliable for checking glucose levels. I’m mainly using it to track trends in my glucose levels, and so far it has collected a lot of data showing I’m doing well. I’ll double-check next month when my lab tests are done to see if the results match the watch’s readings.

@dodo19 That's useful. Although iPhones can track steps too, it's probably much more convenient to have it right on your wrist

I always wore a watch …I needed it when I was at work . When I had my accident last year and my arm was swollen I couldn’t wear my watch. Now I just use my phone ….its not as practical for me , but I haven’t worn my watch in over a year ….i should go back to wearing it though ….

I only wear a wristwatch when I go to visit my doctor since there are no clocks inside of the medical center while there are clocks inside of the home.

I don't wear watch unless there's occasions. I don't used my phone looking at the time as well. Since our home is near a camp. A bell is my time. While I was at work. I can easily see the time in my monitor.

Do you mean a military camp? That's pretty handy - the camp basically becomes your neighborhood clock. It must be quite safe living nearby as well

@Jehanne Oh wow, that close? I wonder if that has influenced a lot of people in your area to become soldiers or police officers. I mean, growing up seeing them around every day and hearing their drills and chants must make the profession feel more familiar

@sol_cee the military camp is a 5mins walk and just across our home is the camp of police mobile troop. True, it's the neighborhood clock. Their early jog and chants in chorus as well could be heard in the entire neighborhood. That somehow made you want to joined them.
