Replanting my vertical garden

Happy Fourth of July to all my US myLot friends. I hope you enjoy the day however you choose to celebrate it.
The photo shows my living wall/vertical garden as it looked yesterday. Actually it's only half of the whole garden. This side has been planted with violas which seem to be able to cope with the small amount of soil in each pocket. I wasn’t able to grow much in the summer so the pockets dried out too quickly but hopefully these little plants will last a bit longer than the last lot.

Hope they grow well. It will be pretty if they do

I hope they do. Surprised it is warm enough to plant there.

We've probably got colder weather to come. I should have got my seedlings in earlier. They're not growing like they should.

I've always been intrigued by the photos that you've shared of your vertical garden.
Sometimes I find it hard to grasp the size of the pockets that you are working with.
The flowers in it look very pretty, just the right size and lots of pretty colours.
I would imagine any plant that has a shallow root system would be idea.
Although I would love to have one, I am sure that I would overwater it and have the pockets blow out, that would make such a mess!

It hasn't been the success I had hoped for but perhaps these little plants will do better. I'll try to take the measurements for you. The pockets don't really hold a lot of soil.

Thank you. I appreciate that. I hope you and Vince are having a wonderful day! We're just staying quiet and playing online tonight. I believe Pretty is playing a computer game with her boyfriend in Georgia. (The state in the US, not the country.)
Good luck with them! I hope everything lives well for you this year!

That will be cheery to enjoy. Maybe some succulents would do well? This makes me want to convert my shoe bags that hang on the wall into gardens as well.

They might have been all green to start with but some had flowers later. It hasn't been a huge success but I'm hoping it will be better this time around.

I don't have much 'ground' to work with so I thought these would be nice.

So can you only grow flowers in that, or can you grow other things as well?

The pockets are really too small to grow other things. You could perhaps grow herbs but nothing very substantial.

So cute to hang on a fence. I'm sure the small amount of dirt you can put in it limits what you can plant, but you made a great choice!

The plants do need to be quite tiny. You might be able to get bigger pockets although I don't remember seeing any.

There seems to be varieties of violas on your living wall.I see little of viola with yellow flowers.

Thank you for the good wishes too!
