Good Morning, Saturday 4 July - Happy Indepence Day America

Are you already celebrating? I've been hearing the fireworks for the past several nights.
How's your weather? We've been in a sauna here with the heat index rising to 107. We're finally cooling off. Today our high will be 78 and our heat index will be tolerable. With the heat we've had lots of rain. We've had areas of flooding in the past week.
I understand that the weather we're having is just as severe across Europe and the Middle East. What about those of you in the southern hemisphere - How is your weather? Is it unusual?
Yes, the weather is the topic of everyone's conversation here. If you're experiencing much the same, I'm sure it's also the topic where you live.
As for me - I hate the A/C. I've been running it almost non-stop. I finally found a place on the thermostat that keeps me happy and doesn't feel like I'm in a freezer.
I'm writing. Which is why you haven't seen me as often as before. I don't know when I will be here every day. I thought I would the last time I checked in. You know that didn't happen.
My current book is Patriot Dreams - it's a time travel story taking place during the Revolutionary War and the birth of our country. Today, I'll be writing the final battle and victory of the Revolutionary War. I can tell you that when I finish this book I will know more about the Revolutionary War than I ever learned in school.
So, whatever you're doing today, make today the best day you can and enjoy the fireworks if you're in the United States. - God Bless America.

That sounds like an appropriate book to write for the 4th. 107? You must be breaking heat records all over the place. It is just a touch cooler today. I can feel I in the air. We probably will not hit 100 today. Not sure about tomorrow though,,but Monday will be slightly cooler after storms.

Yeah, I don't even want to see my utility bill with the heatwave we had. I'm glad it's over. Though it's still A/C weather.
I'm glad your weather is cooler after the storms.

Good morning! We heard and felt some of the big boomers going off several nights before the holiday that shook the house. They startled me awake a few times. We only heard bottle rockets exploding for a few minutes last night. *shrug* I'm hoping people ran out of money to buy more of the large fireworks but am sure that's just wishful thinking.
Pretty and I are shut up in the house so we can avoid all the smoke from the fireworks. I don't feel like having an allergic reaction to the smoke this year although I have epi-pens ready on my bedroom dresser.
It has been hot outside but we're running the A/C, of course. We turned it on as soon as the outside temps reached 80F. I spent too many years being too hot. I don't want to do that anymore.
I hope your writing is going well... Happy 4th of July to you!

@just4him You're very welcome.
Fireworks got rained out on the 4th of July. Storms started around 8 pm and the fireworks stopped around 9 pm. We didn't have any on the 5th until late in the evening and it seemed like just one person was setting anything off.
It started raining again on Sunday so whoever that person was finished up before 9 pm.
Most of the weekend was quiet for us. We played online and read.
You're welcome.

I hope you didn't need your epi pens.
I went to bed early on the 4th. I was falling asleep watching the fireworks on TV from around NE Wisconsin. The noise didn't bother me. I went to bed, shut my eyes and I was out despite the booms close to home.
Thank you. I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July too.
Yes, the book is coming along well. Thank you.

Good luck on the book! I'm sure that's very time-consuming, especially with the research. Check in when you can!

My mother and I went to a little museum because they had free ice cream and other stuff. But when we got there, they ran out of ice cream. I also went to my great-aunt's house for the family get-together. I ate alot of homemade ice cream. Yes, it was really hot.

Sorry it's been so hot there. It's been hot here too, but I like it. If we had the humidity that makes the heat worse I would probably say different. Or maybe if we were over the 100s a lot.
The AC can get to a point that it feels like it is too cold....but that is good you found a place where it feels better
