This is Tiresome

My dog and I have been sick since Sunday morning, and we’re both tired of it. Neither one of us can keep anything down (sorry, TMI), and we obviously don’t share food. I have to go see my incompetent pain management doctor tomorrow so I’ll have to at least trudge out to do that. Do you get sick often? I haven’t been in awhile.

I've never gotten sick often, but when I get sick, I get really sick. I work at an elementary school, so a lot of the time, I get things that are going around there. It's difficult to stay healthy sometimes when you have kids coughing in your eyeballs.

I can’t imagine the germs teachers get. And back in the day, they’d still send kids to school sick as a dog. I hope they quit that.

@AmbiePam Most of the teachers have it easy compared to us Paras (as far as getting sick, not in other ways obviously); we are in the thick of it; a lot of the teachers get to be at a distance, unless they're special education or work with much younger kids. Kids still get sent in pretty sick at times. We have had kids who told us they had a fever, and their parents gave them medication before school. I understand if your kid has a cold, you can't afford to not send them, but when your kid is throwing up or has a fever, please keep them home. There was a year shortly after lockdown from COVID that they had to close the schools down, not because the kids were sick, but because all of the adults were and there was no one to teach, so we were combining classes, but that only worked when there were teachers there, we had all 4 first grade teachers out at one point and a lot of the paras and subs were sick. Then someone who knew nothing about the situation was going on about how weak schools are today, and how schools never closed when we were kids, and I was like, yeah, well, who would you like to teach the kids then? We shut down because there was literally no one to cover for those who were out sick. We would have stayed open even if we had four kids in a classroom as long as we had a teacher, but we had no one.

My dog is definitely better because she got out her stinky bone that makes me stomach turn if it’s within a foot of me, but she loves it.

My headache was gone since my doctor installed a splint bite for my TMJ problem. To Christ be the glory. Why not transfer to another doctor or ask for a second opinion?

Do you have any gatorade, pedialyte, or gingerale? Do you suppose you and your dog got sick from being in the heat so much when the electricity was out?

I thankfully don’t get sick much. They have me on things to keep my immune system strong because I have an IgM deficiency. Glad you’re better now (I’m reading these backwards, so I know how the story turns out ).

I'm sure sorry, Amber. I hope it completely goes away...being sick in a heat wave is no fun. Hugs to you and Sadie.
