Passing Our Day

Today was an inside day due to the air pollution. Neither of the twins slept well last night, and both were very tired all day long. I wanted them to sleep tonight, so our mission was to keep them busy and tire them out at the same time, but not outside. We spent the morning at the London's Children Museum. The girls really enjoy going there, and today was no different. Lots to see and lots to do. They ran around for about 3 hours straight. That made me think that if they did not sleep during the afternoon, they would sleep well tonight. I suggested to them that they need some new clothes for school. Of course never having attended school before, they had no clue as to what I was referring to. But when I asked them if they wanted to go dress shopping, they were pretty excited at the prospect. After lunch, we packed into the car and drove out to the outlet mall across town. I got them each 3 new dresses. There is a solid colour pink dress, a medium blue dress with multi coloured flowers on it, both of thse they can wear now, and will be ideal for school. I also picked them up a light blue floral winter dress. It is a bit on the dressy side, perfect for class pictures or a Christmas gathering or even their birthdays next January. I bought them a bit larger than the other dresses. I left the receipt at our son's place in case our dil wants to exchange any of the dresses for another size or colour. Best of all, there is an incentive to visit museums during June, July and August, and we have a receipt for our visit today that we can use for tax purposes. ~Photo is mine

Haven't they grown? They are such big girls now. They are the biggest difference in size now then they have been their entire lives. Willow wears a full size larger than Harper does for clothing. They've worn different size shoes, and boots for a couple of years, but now it is clothing. And although they dress alike, they do not dress identically.

The girls look so cute and they are almost the same height right now. They have grown so much. I am sure they enjoyed walking through the museum with their Granny and also loved shopping for dresses.

The dress shopping was really fun. It made it feel a little more real that they will go to school soon. Mommy has their knapsacks and lunch pails, now the clothing, soon the shoes too. Willow loves blue, so 2 of the dresses are blue and the third one is a solid light coloured pink-Harper's favorite. They have been to the museum before, but still love it.

@Juliaacv - I still love pink a lot, like Harper. They are getting ready to go to school, time flies, so the time will be soon there. I am sure that Ron is the less happy.

Oh, those sound perfect for them! I bet they absolutely loved them. They are going to love school, aren’t they. I’m sure it will take some getting used to, but they’re going to do so well. What exactly do they have at this particular Children’s Museum? Oklahoma City has one that Amyra, Hudson, and Annelyn love, and I wondered if they were at all similar.

@AmbiePam They have special framed computer screens that you just touch with your hand, and then the colour and you press it on the screen and you can draw or leave your hand print. It is like a modern etch-a-sketch in a huge size. It is so much fun.

They have trampolines, for various sizes in their jump and play sections, each age group has a different room. They have climbing and zip lines age appropriate for them in those rooms. They have hands on activities for different occupations where the children can dress as store keepers in a village, or go shopping in that village, or be a farmer who harvests the crops for the stores or an astronaut, as well the usual lazer tag and things like that.

It's so hard to believe they'll be going off to school soon. They're so cute and I'm sure they will be happy with their new dresses.

They are so ready for school. And now, they have their nice new Roots lunch pails, knapsacks and 3 dresses from yesterday's shopping trip. They will need both new shoes for indoors as well as outdoors. I'm glad that our son and DIL have good jobs getting 2 outfitted for back to school is expensive.

Those dresses sound cute. Will they school uniforms in later years?

They loved the dresses, they are such little divas to be dress shopping and loving it at such a tender young age. Here only the private schools require uniforms. Some high schools require them, only the ones in the Separate (Catholic) School Board. So, eventually they will need them.

@Juliaacv ost schools here have a uniform but often it's only a T-shirt and particular colours.

It was great to forget about not being able to go outside to play. We opted for the area that is for younger children that they can safely climb and jump on. They also played basketball.

They are adorable as usual. It's hard to believe they're going to be starting school soon. I hope they'll sleep soundly tonight.

Thank you. Harper, on the right, is a full size smaller than Willow is. Harper still has fair hair, but it is turning darker also. I am sure that they slept well, and this morning they can tell me all about their sweet dreams.
