Two steps forward, one step back.

Or so we think. Son decided on a nap yesterday afternoon, normal for him. After about half an hour, he came in the kitchen holding a towel to his eye, which was bleeding. It seemed like a lot of blood to me, and of course it did to him. He said it really didn't hurt, that he dozed off and woke up with his eye sort of aching...but said it wasn't that painful. Got him cleaned up and it was still seeping, so I called the teledoc thing...and they said to get him to the ER. I didn't want to drive him there this time, I was afraid he might get worse and I would be stuck driving and not be able to safely stop, so we called the paramedics. They packed him off, and then I headed for the ER, too. Since he has a blood disorder, along with some other issues, they were worried about a stroke, but that wasn't the problem. He's never had a stroke. It ended up that an eye specialist showed up and then a vascular doc, they rolled him away and used a laser to seal up the bleed. I was scared but I kept my cool and so did he. Afterwards, they said he had to stay in the ER at least for the night, it was crazy busy in there. They put him in a little ER room; he wanted me to go home but I stayed. It's not like I would have slept if I went home, anyway. He slept on and off and I snoozed in a chair when he snoozed. I was happy to have a nice snooze chair. It ended up that they let him come home this morning. They said it seems fine now, yay! We will go back to an appointment on Monday. If it happens again, he is to get back to the hospital. They are not sure of the cause of the eye hemorrhage but think it might be at least partly blamed on medication(s) for some reason and are reviewing them. Anyway, he can still see fine and he isn't in pain--he says his eye just feels tired if that makes any sense. We both had a long nap. His eye looks a lot better, he can see just fine. It was just scary. The two docs seemed convinced it was triggered by a medication, so they are checking things out Monday.

Sounds scary. I just did a quick search anything with vitamin k Spinach may help so he does not bleed like that anymore.

He has never had anything like this happen before. He is on extra vitamins, and I strive to feed him as healthy as I possibly can. Thanks so much.

@MarieCoyle All you can do, do not over overcompensate. Meaning what I do to myself sometimes when a problem arises, you start over taking things and it leads to other problems I hope that makes sense.

@crossbones27 In this wellness journey, we just take one thing at a time. I am just thankful we went and it was fixable!

@MarieCoyle I hope you have an easier ER than mine. As a general rule, a person sits waiting for help in the ER about 5 hours and probably more.

Thanks, Lenore. He never wants to go to the ER, of course--but after seeing all that blood, he realized we had to go.

Oh, goodness, Marie. That must have been very frightening. I am glad he is okay now. I need to have a talk with your son about scaring us like that!

That would freak anybody out. I am glad he is OK, I guess it could be a side effect of one of the medications or maybe taking it a long with something else caused it.

I am sure we will find out Monday when we go back. It was a relief to hear they really think it's a med thing. Thanks, Snowy.

You did the right thing sending him by ambulance and staying at his side while he was in Emerg. I am sending positive vibes and prayers for the any news that may come about on Monday at the appointment. I would assume that they performed a brain scan at the very least while he was there. That will tell them alot.

Yes, they did. The doc told him no damage was done and son joked that he was glad his brain was still working! Thank you, Julia, for your positive vibes and prayers!

I joked with him at the ER and said ''Did you think we were bored and needed excitement?'' He thought that was funny, I thought it was a lame Mom joke! Thanks, @NJChicaa
