Puppy nappies not needed

I wrote about my brother-in-law and his wife getting a new cavoodle puppy. My sister-in-law said they’d bought a bed, collar, lead and other bits and pieces including puppy nappies. I’d never heard of such a thing. They were a bit like baby nappies but with a hole for the tail.
Their daughter delivered the puppy yesterday and we caught up with her today. She told us the puppy is already toilet-trained so that’s very good news. The nappies won’t be needed unless perhaps they are used when she comes in heat.
The photo is another of mine but again, not of their puppy. This one lives two doors down the road and had just had a haircut.

Possibly @Ineeddentures I know a few people who used them for a way to prevent their pupply from urinating at night. I never asked it it worked.

Roscoe would laugh at a dog wearing a puppy nappy

@Ineeddentures In the old-fashioned way, just like we did with children before disposable nappies. Nowadays some children are sent to school still in nappies!

It's good the puppy is already potty trained.
That's not something I'd want to deal with, personally.

Exactly
You learn something new every day
At one point further up the page I almost said that I thought puppy nappies were a good idea

I love dogs, but in retrospect, we never had a female dog...which is weird realization. Not that we feared dowry or whatever. But now that you mentioned in heat, my mind is questioning whether they too have red blood flowing out or not. Why on earth do I get such doubts?

My friend used to put the nappies down when they were going out for a while so that their dogs knew where to do their toilets if necessary.

It's good that it's already trained for that. That can be very frustrating trying to teach a dog that.

It's mental.
It's beyond ridiculous
People toilet trained dogs for millennia without stupid bloody puppy nappies
If people can't be bothered toilet training a dog the traditional way, don't have a dog.

@Ineeddentures If everyone did that, all the puppy nappy manufacturers might go out of business!

I would not entertain puppy nappies in the first place
Why?
Why can't you just take the dog for a regular walk and get it into the routine of pooping outside
