Have you ever seen corn like this?

I was really looking forward to having some corn.
Bought two of them.
One of them was fine.
The other was not.
I attached the picture of the second one.
This is the first time I’ve ever seen or bought corn that looked like this.
When I was in the store, I peeled the husk a little bit to make sure the corn is not bad.
The part that I looked at was fine, so I thought the rest of the corn would be the same.
I was wrong.
I hope the kernels of corn that exist on it taste good.
Perhaps next time I should peel off more of the husk before buying the corn.

I guess that corn will be fine except that it didn't have full kernels like the healthy ones. Getting those can onl mean that the corn was not able to fully developed due to many things like not planted in a good soil and it lacked nutrients to fully develope like that others. Or it was just unlucky enough not be pollinated well by nature that is why it lacks the corn kernels it should have.

That's a smart idea. This cob looks like it didn't get enough water and/or nutrients. I always pull back the husk to see what the corn and cob look like.

Yes, that can sometimes happen when the corn wasn't pollinated fully. The insects that pollinated it didn't walk on all of the tassels before walking on the corn silk.

This happens sometimes when the corn needs rain and didn’t get it at a peak growing stage. It’s still ok to eat, but the kernels are often tough when they get too big, and when they aren’t packed together in rows.
