Well, that was easy.

I called to change my doctor appointment this morning, but they were actually getting ready to call me to reschedule. The air conditioner in the entire building is out, and the ladies in the office are rescheduling so no one has to spend time in this awful 100 F (38 C) heat with no air. The poor ladies are going to work from home once they call everyone. They aren’t sure when it will be fixed so they rescheduled me for next week. When is the last time you had to reschedule an appointment?

Thank goodness you rescheduled. Not having a/c in the building would be just too hot to keep your appointment. I'm sure they'll get it fixed quickly if it's an office.

Yes, it’s one big office building filled with various doctors. I do wish they could do it through telehealth, but the doctor only does telehealth through her office, and she can’t stand the heat from her office either.

@Marilynda1225 Especially when she’s just going to tell me what medicine she’s switching me too now that the other is no longer being made.

@AmbiePam hope you get it rescheduled soon but a telehealth would have been so easy.

@AmbiePam I’m fortunate enough not to ever have to see my doctor who I’ve never met. My only appointment upcoming is for my daughter who, on account of her Down Syndrome has a special dentist in the next town. We quite often have to rescue those appointments because the usually interfere with our trips away. They have a strange system. This time however it’s for the week before we go away at the end of August.

What is the reason she has to have a particular dentist? Just how they interact with certain patients, or is there a physical reason?

@AmbiePam She had extensive cardiac surgery as a child and bad teeth could lead to further problems. Never in 25 years has she needed treatment and we are trying to keep it that way. A regular dentist would be reluctant to take on a special needs patient.

@xFiacre I’m so glad she hasn’t had further problems with her heart. I’m also a little perturbed that a dentist would be reluctant to take on a special needs patient.

I rescheduled my doctor's appointment for this month and I am glad I did. I have enough stuff to deal with right now. I am pretty good managing my health on my own anyway.

I almost rescheduled the one I have for today. First, the best friend wanted my help to move some things into her new house she bought yesterday. But she said not to cancel. Then today the memory care facility needs us to come to handle a situation with the mother-in-law. Sigh.

I hope the AC gets fixed soon. Not having AC in the building will make both workers and patients uncomfortable.

It definitely works out for you. I'm glad that it worked out. It's been a while since an appointment I had was rescheduled.

Working inside with such a hot temperature is a pain.

That actually worked out well for everyone. Sitting in a medical office with no air conditioning when it's 100°F (38°C) outside would have been miserable for both patients and staff. It was thoughtful of the office to reschedule appointments instead of expecting everyone to tough it out, and it's nice that the staff can work from home while they sort everything out.

I agree. It’s just not reasonable to expect staff to suffer all day.
