A couple of new medications added to the regime

I have neuropathy in my feet so I'm used to them tingling and burning. I was prescribed Cymbalta which is an antidepressant but it also somehow works to improve neuropathy as well. Unfortunately I ran out of it last week and didn't remember to call to ask for a refill. On Monday night I was here at the day spa. I was laying in bed talking to my roommate while my feet and legs got progressively more painful. It felt like I was receiving electrical shocks, my muscles were twitching, and I couldn't keep them still. I tried to muscle through it because I do have a very high tolerance for pain but eventually I couldn't. I got up and walked around the floor a couple of times. That calmed things down for a few minutes and then it started up again. Finally I went to the nurse and explained what was going on. She gave me both Flexeril (muscle relaxer) and Requip (restless legs). The other nurse offered me Ativan. He said that it might calm down my nervous system. I declined because I'm not trying to go down that road. I've already refused it every day with my regular meds. I went back to bed and continued talking with the roommate. After about half an hour I noticed that the shocks and constant movement had stopped. I asked for it again last night. I was upset when the symptoms returned. The male nurse called me over and said that the other one had forgotten to give me those 2 new meds. That was a relief because I was afraid that it wasn't going to work again. Luckily it did. I will pay closer attention tonight when whoever it is reads off the meds in the little cup. I'm relieved that we found something that works.
