I thought it was only the keys.

Hello friends.
For a long time (decades in fact) I thought that I had a very especific OCD. It had to do with the keys. Every time I go out, I check several times if I place the keys in my purse before I go out.
But as years go by, I have found out that I have other problems that can go under that title. In this occation I discovered that I have checked at least 5 times the meds that I have to take to Aruba. It doesn´t help that doctors add more and more meds to the list that I have to take. In fact, the list is now so long that I wrote them down and taped the list at the back of the pill box I fill every week.
Lists have become part of my life now although I don´t think that all of it has to do with any memory loss or other mental problem that I might have due to old age. I it just that there is too many things too remember. Pills, for instance have gone from 2 a day to almost 12. And there´s one that I have to halve every time I fill my pill box.
The grocery list is also a new thing that started with the pandemia. Grocery buying used to be something that you did going to the supermarket. Now I buy everything online.
How about you?
Goood night, dear friends.

I take 13 1/2 pills every morning and 6 I take every evening now. We make a grocery list once a week, too. It's a pain in the tush!
I hope you have a good night.

I make lists of what to talk about with the doctor, and lists of Bob's medicine, lists of chores to do. I fasten my keys to the outside of my purse so I know that they are there.

I can definitely understand why lists have become such an important part of your life. When you go from taking two medications a day to nearly twelve, there is a lot more to keep track of, especially when one of them has to be divided in half. Writing everything down and keeping the list with your pill box sounds like a very practical way to make sure nothing gets missed.

Just now
Hi Marga
So nice to see you again
Hope this finds you well
My OCD is Yvonne's medication
There is so much of it to be organised when we go anywhere
Also the bathroom light
Sometimes I go back and check it 3 or 4 times after exiting the bathroom just to make sure the light is off
We buy most groceries online, and the tan I use most is " buy again"
It's like it's own little list
When are you going to Aruba?
And has the house sold yet?

Another thing was to check several times if the gas was turned off before going to sleep. No gas here.
