Do you wash your hands after visiting the toilet

August 12, 2026 11:59am CST
Do you wash your hands after visiting the toilet? Well done you? It seems now that lots of people don't In Tesco Visited toilet Had to wait on a cubicle and I tell you what, it was a close call, it really was. But as I was waiting 5 men left the bathroom without washing their hands Disgusting And I don't really care if that offends anyone who doesn't wash their hands after they have done their stuff. What say you?

@ineeddentures I say shame on them, but this is nothing new. Perhaps Tesco needs to employ attendants who upbraid men who treat hygiene with gay abandon, and remind them when they are about to leave with urine and fecal matter on their hands that they must scrub well first. Perhaps these brave attendants could ask politely “Sir, are you going to use those unwashed hands to handle your own food?” I must say though, the toilets in my Tesco are so clean and perfumed that each time I use them I initially think I’ve wandered into the ladies department.

@Ineeddentures Good place to pass the time while the lady shops. I couldn’t find a quiet seat in Manchester airport once so installed myself on a toilet, got out my book then fell asleep for over half an hour.

Shame on anyone, of either gender who does not wash their hands after visiting the bathroom I don't get how guys can just zip up and bugger off totally bypassing the sinks and driers Tesco toilets are always clean. The disabled one is awesome A place to hang ones Jacket A nicer toilet seat. Lovely sink and a better drier A great place to sit and read

@xFiacre I don't think I could fall asleep Not on a toilet I would be scared of pitching forward and falling on my face

@Ineeddentures It does seem that some don't have the habit. It is surprising.

@ineeddentures The pulling of the chain is another contentious issue. Who oh why do so many men walk away after a productive session without flushing? Manchester airport seems to attract that kind of customer. Otherwise immaculate facilities which are a joy to use, but jobbies floating everywhere

@Ineeddentures last time I saw the chain was in my granny’s outhouse in the 60s. They’ll probably come back into fashion.

@xFiacre Wouldn't that be good A cludgy with a chain to tug on Old ceramic above head cistern Those were the days my friend

The pulling of the chain I of course do know the answer to the floating or sunken Jobby problem They give up when they don't see the chain.

So do you wash your hands after pissing or not? You do a lot of cooking, so I take it you do.

Wash your hands before for your safety, wash your hands after for hygiene and other people safety. This is what I always do, I wash twice, before and after.

I suppose that is sensible If I have been working outside and my hands are dirty I wash my hands first And then wash them after

I'd say men tend to wash less often than women.

I do wash but may not with soap. I wash them when I am eating with hands as most Asians do at home.

Absolutely! If I only pee, I might just rinse (unless I'm about to eat), but if I poop, you bet I'm going full hot-water-and-soap. I wash my hands pretty frequently, anyway, but I can't imagine using the bathroom and then just walking out. That's crazy.

I go full out hot water and soap what ever I do lol Like you, I find it hard to come to terms with why anyone would not wash their hands every time they use the bathroom It is crazy

Yes I do. And you would hope that other people would too, especially in some place like a supermarket where they might well be handling the fruit and vegetables afterwards.
