How often do people mistake your age?

It happens quite often to me.
When I was in my mid-20s a gay man thought I was just 16.
When I was in my late 30s, I was told I looked like I was in my 20s.
I am often mistaken for an adult because of my age. But the truth is....I'm a teenage girl in my 40s.

@toniganzon I want to look my age. I think I look my age though cos of dem smile lines. If you tell me I'm looking younger, I just feel you are lying to me because I look at myself in the mirror, and I know what I see

@Wrexxo Yeah some people just don't tell the truth. But if more than one person is telling you that, then probably they aren't lying at all.

I think that you have a head start though because you have a really great figure.

Mentally as well. I like things that young people usually like. And I like doing activities done by young people as well, though not all.

But what I really laugh at is when people have a distorted view of how they look.
Distorted to the extent they don't really see themselves

When your old, fat and over 70 does it really matter if the get age right or not? My one girlfriend never got carded but I always did. Is that good or bad? Back then I enjoyed it.

My favorite tale of being mistaken for younger than I was came when I was signing up for college. One of the counselors told me I was in the wrong room because I had to sign up for certain mandatory classes. I said, “I thought those were only for people under 25.” “They ARE.” “I’m 31.” Her jaw dropped. 
I still have people telling me that I don’t look my age (66). I certainly don’t act it.

That's one funny story.
My sisters told me I don't act my age as well. I'm 48 and I still enjoy watching Japanese anime. I still play Nintendo switch. I still wish to ride my longboard again. I still act like a kid.2 people like this

I'm not Halle Berry, but there was a time I would get carded and I was in my 40's. My girlfriends were younger than me and not getting carded. Pissed them off. Now, it's catching up to me. I just look old, sad, and tired.

@toniganzon, while it's good that they ask their patrons, it can be a little offensive to me as I'm not yet in my senior years because it makes people stare at you.

@rsa101 We had this agent before who was fuming mad when she got in the office. I asked her what was wrong with her and she said:
"Ma'am, I was mistaken as a senior citizen by the jeepney driver. How dare he!"
I told her she should just have pretended she was so she could have gotten a discount!

It’s happen to me all my life.
I don’t look anywhere near my true age. I was 60 in January but look at least 20 years younger, if not more ….

Most people, especially women want to look young. And to be mistaken as 20 years younger is a compliment.
