Boo Hoo, I lost my writing streak on here. That tells you, I've been busy writing. I'm in a lull right now, so I'll try to catch up here. That doesn't mean I won't be writing today. I most definitely will. It just means that right now the two books I'm working on to complete this year are being quiet right now. I'm working on a book I want to publish next year. It's time I got this one edited and ready, so that's what I started working on yesterday. It's called Ecstasy. It's been a while since I touched this one. The editing is going well.
Other than that, the end of the month is coming up soon. I'm not even close to payout, but if it happens, it will be a surprise. Though I should make the payout next month.
I have a very important retreat coming up two weeks from today. I'm totally excited. The 50+ Retreat happens from the 10th to the 12th of September. I've been planning what I need to take with me. My first year I only took my pillow and paid for the bedding. I also didn't have a USB outlet for my phone. I also forgot soap. I thought it was provided in the bathrooms. The second year I got a sleeping bag from my sister and bought a blanket and stocking hat. I was glad I had my warmest hoodie with me. It was the coldest three days, and then when I got home it warmed up. Go figure. I also had a USB plug and remembered all the necessary toiletry items, not just my toothbrush. This year I'm planning the sleeping bag, blanket, pillow, a tray table and a lamp that has two USB ports on it. That will take care of all my USB needs. I'm thinking about taking my tablet, but since that thing drives me insane, I might leave it home. I could take my laptop, that drives me less insane than the tablet. We'll see what happens. I'm also taking my winter jacket. I'm not taking chances with the weather this time, especially since it will be a week later than last year.
Also coming up in September is Writer's Guild on the first. I'm doing the education segment. I don't know what possessed me to raise my hand to do it, but we'll see how it goes. My topic is Research and I'm completely ready for it. I'm going to shake like a lone leaf on a tree in fall.
Okay, that's what's up and coming. If everything works the way I want it, I'll have two books finished and two books ready to publish by the end of the year so I can publish next year. There might be three books ready to publish. We'll see. I've been editing Firestorm and Dear Diary along with the one I started yesterday - Ecstasy. In case you're counting that will equal 16 published books when those three are published.
Then I will slow down. It's going to be a while before I have anymore books ready to publish. What won't slow down is my writing.
What's on your agenda? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me. The oil lamps were given to me by my son's girlfriend. Aren't they gorgeous?

What possesses you to write the way you do? I guess you feel you have a lot to say. Have fun at the retreat you seem as though you will be well prepared, and I like the lamps. Perfect for this time of the year.

My AI says it's the way I'm wired. It's rare when I only write or work on one book at a time. The books are all different and they're also fascinating. I just love writing.
I hope I'm prepared this time. I'm going shopping the day before for food. I also bought a cooler. With my allergy to chicken and their penchant for chicken at almost every meal, I only paid for the banquet, that one won't be chicken. The last two years it was beef. That's what I'm hoping this year. So, I'll get salads and something for breakfast. I won't need to worry about snacks, though I'm thinking about buying a large bag to go on the snack tables. There were so many snacks the first two years they were bagging them on the last day so people could take them home with them.

@just4him I guess the food piece is the last thing you will have to take care of.

Thank you. She found them when she was helping someone clean out their garage. She asked me if I wanted them. Silly question. I collect oil lamps so she knew I would like them.
I'm looking forward to it. I'm so glad they have camps for adults too not only children.

Your writing update reminds me I haven't worked on the stories I have started in a while. I'd like to do that. I also got a book about Robert Mitchum I want to read.
It's good you are remembering things better this year. We used to travel to a little resort town up north. I was always checking my list to be sure I didn't forget anything.
Those oil lamps are nice.

Wow..
Such a long post...It sounds like you’ve got a lot going on, but it’s great that the editing of Ecstasy is moving along.
The retreat sounds like it’s going to be a much better-prepared experience this year, especially with that winter jacket! And 16 published books is seriously impressive...good luck with the Writer’s Guild presentation, I’m sure you’ll do great.

Hey girlfriend!! you certainly sound busy (but good busy) and happy. Lots of fun things coming up and it's a good idea to bring warm clothes in case it's cold there. Cant believe August is coming to an end but I'm looking forward to Fall, All your book ideas, multiple plots, tons of characters just boggles my mind and I don't know how you keep them all straight. But, I do enjoy them when they get published

The Oil Lamps are absolutely stunning
I want to get something like them for my man cave
It would elevate the space on a cold winters night
