Well, today would be my parent’s 51st wedding anniversary. Fifty years together is realistic when you get married young (and you put each other before anyone else). He had forgotten about it until I said something, but don’t worry, I wouldn’t have said anything if it would have made him sad. Being married to Diana now, he can look back and it doesn’t hurt like it did.
But darn it, I shed a tear. And that’s okay. Both of them are happy now.

You know they loved each other...and that they had a very strong marriage. And of course you miss her, I am sure he misses her, too. But as you said, both are happy now. It's crazy how the years fly past.

Just now
I'm so sorry. It's a bit sad but that's life. You could only be happy for them now.

I am happy that he and Diana are so happy.
I can understand you feeling as you do, you lost your Mom (twice) you lost the beauty of their love, seeing it every time you were with them. Old marriages are so unique, yet so predictable, comfortable and happy.
That is alot for a daughter to lose.
