Went over a few things…

I’m home now from the get together at my dad’s house with my sister and her family. We went over quite a few things, and I learned something new. First, my sister was upset with me because Dumb & Dumber “cleaned” and threw my mom’s ashes away. This, from the woman who did not want to save my mom’s ashes, but to let them be dumped by the crematorium. Oh, but don’t worry, she’s forgiven me.
I knew I shouldn’t have told her.
I just bit my tongue. It is not worth it. I’m sure I’ve really made myself look like a “butt” before so I’m letting this go. I did find it ironic though.
Second thing I found out is that I’m only going on one excursion on this cruise; the one to see the Anne of Green Gables history on Prince Edward Island. The Sydney and Halifax, Nova Scotia stops are not on our lists of excursions (apparently last year’s cruise had cheaper excursions since it’s a different cruise line). So, hopefully, someone will want to get off the boat in those two stops and explore. I’d like to look around at least. I also don’t know why this was just told to me.
Third thing is my dad is finally doing it. He is no longer going to get his insurance from the son of his friend, thus saving $3,000 a year altogether. I couldn’t help but give him a look when my sister told my dad how much he would be saving now. He couldn’t bring himself to do it until he retired and could no longer afford to pay more than what other companies would charge him. Annoyed the heck out of me. Please know, I also realize it is NONE of my business if he wants to overpay to a man who makes three times what my dad does.
Anyway…
It was a good day. We like to give each other a hard time. Pictured is Amyra (doing a 90s throwback outfit), Hudson (that’s a hearing aid around his forehead), and Annelyn. We had a fantastic visit!

Why do the kids always look so cute, no matter what they're doing?

It is good to clear the air, even on things that are not a popular conversation.
They say that styles repeat themselves every 25 or 30 years, so maybe she isn't wearing a throw-back so much as a current fashion.
Annelynn really looks like she admires her big brother, that is so good to see.
They are a beautiful family.
Do lots of research as to what tourist attractions will be open come the time that you travel, some are seasonal.

I’m glad that you got to see your family. The kids look so happy!
I know your Dad thought he was helping but does your sister know he hired Dumb and Dumber, not you? It wasn’t your fault about the ashes or the expensive medicine or all the food that they tossed, either. You and your Dad trusted those people and I sincerely hope they never clean anyone’s house ever again!

Her ashes being disposed of by those people is something no one can fix. And oh do I ever know what you mean about wanting to keep the peace in a family!!

Sorry to learn that your late mom's ashes were thrown away by your sibling.
