The Friends Favorites

Did you ever watch the TV show, Friends? It is one of my favorite sitcoms. I get a lot of Friends things to review, including these very special glasses pictured. Those who watch/watched the show are familiar with what they represent. I said before, NBC wanted Courteney (correct spelling) Cox to play the character of Rachel because she was the more well known of the actresses who auditioned (previously of Family Ties fame), but she was more drawn to the hilarious perfectionist role of Monica. Incidentally, Courteney Cox was the only actor in the show to never get nominated for an Emmy for her role on Friends. Yes, even David Schwimmer was nominated for playing Ross. Courteney was robbed. The only main acting Emmys went once to Lisa Kudrow who played Phoebe, and once to Jennifer Aniston who played Rachel. I think we all know the late actor, Matthew Perry, nominated four times, should have won. Strangely enough, the show as a whole only one once for Outstanding Show, in season eight. There were two guest actors who also won a guest actor Emmy: Danny Devito for playing a stripper, and Christina Applegate for playing Rachel’s sister. My favorite couple was by far Chandler and Monica. My favorite guest role was Brad Pitt, who was, at the time, married to Jennifer Aniston. My favorite episode was the one where no one is ready for Ross’s award banquet. Or whatever that award or speech engagement was. Anyone remember, “Drink the fat!” Any favorites from you guys? Did you like the show? *Matthew Perry did a sitcom years later called “Go On”, about a grief support group. It was hilarious. If you can find it, I recommend it. It was a crying shame it only lasted one season. It was just what I needed during my mom’s battle with dementia.
